The school, staff and teachers are to commended. My children have attended Peterson since they were in Kindergarten, my youngest daughter will be moving on to middle school this next year, so we will be leaving Peterson. I cannot say enough great things about all the teachers, especially Ms. Parker this year, the entire school staff, nor will I ever be able to thank them for the love, care and commitment they provided. What a great experience... Thank you so very much Peterson staff!
Wonderful teacher parent evolvement, this school care for the students and does everything to make sure they are all getting a good education.
I have enjoyd this school very much. Parents are very involved, teachers and administration are great. I love the family movie nights.
The staff at Peterson is great. Parents are very involved. They have free family movie nights. What school does that? My kids are getting a great education, with fun teachers.
The school so far has been fairly well. I think the school needs improvements on safety issues and extracurriculum activities. Even fun family events at the school, like other school districts provide just 50miles north of here.
This is a very parent involved school. The staff is patient and caring. The neighborhood is established and is for the most part trouble free.
I love my son's first grade teacher Ms. Timmermen. She's the best teacher any parent could ask for!
I am very impressed with Peterson Elementary school staff. All the teachers I have met have been very helpful in my childrens education. My oldest child was home schooled through 2nd grade and I was concerned that he would not adjust well to public school but I was worrying for nothing. He not only has been able to skip a grade but is doing excellent in the advanced grade he is in. My daughter was struggling at first with reading but now with the continue teaching skills and determination of my daughter she is doing very well. I love this school and the teachers are very dedicated to their students. I wouldn't have my children in any other school.
My daughter just finnished 5th grade and has been at Peterson since first grade. The level of services provided are poor. If your student is self sufficent the school is satisfactory. However if your student has special needs or is an over achiever then Merced County as a whole is not the place for your family.
My child just finished kindergarten at Peterson and had a wonderful year. Mrs. Hill is an excellent kindergarten teacher. As with most public schools the range of abilites is quite wide, and you may have to continue to supplement at home if your child is a high achiever. Children have many opportunities to speak and perform in front an audience throughout the year, and the school is changing from year-round to traditional in fall 2003. Though the school tries to gather information from students and parents alike, they tend to do so with surveys that are not very good.
