I wouldn't have changed my high school experience at all. Great school academically with the IB Program, as well as the opportunity to be partial IB and/or AP and CP classes. School spirit is great here-pep rallies at other schools don't compare, and other extra-curricular activites are great too.

This school is an excellent school. It has the IB program, the AVID program, the College Prep courses and the Advance Placement courses.The teachers are dedicated and passionate about teaching and the staff is dedicated to maintaining dicipline and a safe learning enviroment. For students, everyone can be a part of something and represent the school because there are so many activities, clubs and organizations to choose from. There is also a lot of diversity. Though the school is in an area that is looked down upon that does not reflect upon the students and their achievements. The school itself provides a great positive enviroment in which students can thrive and pursue learning more than the average learning. Modesto High School is the best school in the district.

Our family is very happy to have a school in our area that offers the International Baccalaureate program. It is an outstanding program for those students who need to be challenged and are planning to attend college.

Teachers have been very accessible to me as a parent and have provided excellent instruction to both of my children. We have two students in the full international baccalaureate program and it has provided both the rigour and stimulation our kids needed. Extracurricular activities are another big plus. The campus offers a lot of opportunities for involvement at the school and in the community. The IB parents as a group are very involved in the school, but a surprising number of other parents see Modesto High as their school as well and deeply care about the programs and policies at the school.

quality of academic programs are great because there is after school tutoring for any subject. Availabity for sports are elegible with good grades only. Parents are involved in most of the school's events

This is a great school! It has an excelent International Baccalaurate program with an average of a 90% success rate. The teachers of the IB program are wonderful! There are many activities from sports to art and music. Students and parents are activly involved in a tight knit group! This school is an excelent choice if you want your student to get an internationaly recognized education.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
