Ic has a very highly qualified and dedicated staff; and a principal who is not only present and accountable, but also one who is an accomplished educator with a doctorate, and a rich background in. Education and life experience such as is generally not found in elementary schools. From a public school teacher and school supporter.

I have just read some of these reviews and I am in shock. The teachers and administration have worked tirelessly to bring about much needed change to the Immaculate Conception parish school. When hearing that this is the #8 principal in 14 years it says that change is certainly needed! I am very impressed by the Junior High changes. Parents asked for more academics and it seems that the older students are responding to the challenge. The younger students seem to be on task. There is talk of younger students as being unruly-- makes me wonder what the homelife of those students must be like. Over all there has been improvement. The concern I have is the parent gossip out in the parking lot. A few loud voices have discouraged, insulted and have acted in very unchristian like ways to tear down the efforts of those working to build up IC

Great things are happening at Immaculate Conception! This is our second year having our children attend IC. Admittedly, last year had some challenges; but then again, all schools do. Most of last year's challenges have been met head-on and I do see a change for the better! This year, there are two new teachers in junior high school who have extensive high school experience; so they know what our children need to transition to high school. The principal has put together a Volunteer's Association of 25-30 professionals (retired teachers, business leaders, alumni, etc.) that will further enhance the learning of the students. I understand one goal of the administration is to have the Volunteer's Association enhance the extraciricular activities (academic and athletic) at IC. Some teachers are also taking professional enrichment courses, which again, enhances the teaching of the students. As the improvements continue, so will the the appreciation and success!!

I have to say I have been VERY disappointed this year (2008/09) in our school.. There is NO organization, NO discipline, No structure.. Kids do whatever they want. It's messy, dirty and disorganized. Not enough parent participation. No extras like language, art, music, computer.. and if they do have any of those extra activities they do them so seldom. I'm sad because I had such high hopes for positive change with the new Principal. I will not be returning and am sad for those few good children who are being overlooked by so many undisciplined children and whose parents have no idea. '0' stars from me.. Sorry

I have been a part of this school for many years now and I must say it has only improved over the last few years. No school is perfect, but I see much, much more positive than negative. I think as parents, we need to offer praise for the good things at our school and then spread this goodness to others and tell them about our wonderful school. For the things that need improvement, we need to offer suggestions and help implement some of those suggestions instead of just talking about it. This is a community and the success of the school depends on that. We are very blessed to have a wonderful staff and may great families who really care and wish for only the best for our students and the school.

It s a real shame to see negative comments here. We have had nothing but positive experiences at IC. Our son graduated from IC last year and is now attending an accelerated college-prep high school, with a 3.90GPA. Our daughter is currently at IC, and doing great (reading 3 grades above her grade). The teachers have been unbelievable. It s obvious that they truly care about the education and wellbeing of our children. They do everything possible to ensure that our children are receiving the religious school experience that they deserve. We love the principal, she has been a saint. We absolutely love the family environment that the staff, PTO, and families have created. We had attended another private school, prior to IC, and we never felt the sense of community that we have experienced at IC. Visit Immaculate Conception and meet the staff. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

I have to say that this is an outstanding school. The principal and staff have gone above and beyond for our family. The curriculum is very strong & consistent in K-5 and 6-8. Every subject has a program with the individual kits and workbooks! My child also gets computer class, spanish class, art class, library, music, and P.E. once a week! Most importantly the staff and children are so kind and my child feels very safe and loves to come to school. I have never felt this much support and sense of community. We are truly blessed!

I have had two children attend IC school and it was the best place for them to get their Catholic education! The teachers were loving, caring, open to communication and extremely well qualified. My children loved their elementary years at Immaculate Conception and will always have fond memories of their time there.

I have 2 children attending this school and they enjoy this wholesome, safe and nurturing environment. The teachers care and go above and beyond; discipline is high and the curriculum is challenging. It's a great school.

This school has low academics and expectations. Communication with staff and teachers is terrible. The teachers are not very helpful either(meetings, help with child, harder work).
