My son went to this school for 2 years, and I would like to say that his grades were the best thanks to his teachers. With the exception of one teacher, (Mr. Chavez) that has a bad aptitude and I had to move my son to other class, we didn't have no incidents. Was his lost because my son was always getting diplomas for been a good student thanks to his efforts and to teachers like Mr. Gonzales, Mr.O'Brian, Mr. Hernandez and Mrs. Sahagian (She is the best) not only as a teacher, but they care so much for the kids so they help them a lot. Thanks to all of them for been excellent teachers"
I AM A STUDENT and La Merced Intermediate, is a school for bright young students who want to challenge themselves, the teachers are amazing, and i would say throughout the four years i was there i had a good relationship with all my teachers. The students are friendly and welcome you as you are. There is an AMAZING AVID program which stands for Advanced Via Individual Determination , which is for students who are being prepared for college, and have high hopes of attending some of the best schools in the country , your child will even go to college field trips to get an idea of college life, this is a program worth thinking about. We also have a music department, band, and orquestra, they hold performances during the school year, and go on a 1 night trip 2 day trip to San Diego to compete with other school. There is also the drama department, which preform a Christmas play during school and for the parents after school. The students ho attend La merced are very well behaved, and have a sense of where they are going in life, i would rate this school 5/5.
i am a student at LMI and i wouldnt say this school is good nor bad. Since 5th grade is now at the elementary school 6-8th grade has more space. which means only about 27 kids in each class. This a very good school with very good teachers and counselers but we are on the poor side..... Our school is not the richest and we have to do many fundraisers but they try their best to get all the students what they need. There is no more violence or fights at this school anymore maybe alittle trouble makers but thats it. it even sends the higher math students to take their class at the high school! i would go maybe for a year to see if you like it but 8th grades the best!!! you get to do so many things like the 8th grade dance,8th grade picnic, Disneyland!!!
I am a student at this school iv been trying to transfer for the past two years but since its the closes to my house i have to settle for it. Its an ok school some of the teachers are ok. Iv you like action, violance, drama, and cold teachers this is the perfect school for u.There are alout of things to do here.I dont recomend it to anybody. The best eigth grade teacher is Mr. Mount. Thanks for reading.
They have teachers that really care about their students and go above and beyond.
I am a student that goes to la merced!! I would say that it is not a very good school and i don't recommend it!! Some things are good about the school the teachers sre really nice but the kids are rude and mean at my school there are many kids that disrespect things and teachers1! are school has a great principal and many activities that go on almost every week. I personaly would rather go to another school but this school offers high education for the students and the teacher are very nice!! Im a seventh grader and my favorite teacher is Mr.thorne because he is very nice and is very helpful. So if you are going to transfer to this school think about it before you go but you will have a good time, there!! Well thank you for reading this and please think about wat you do!!
Well, I myself attended LMI in 91-93. I got to say the school did show alot of interest in the childrens success in learning, my three children currently attend LMI and I am proud of the school for improving and for adding other programs such as student counseling and Parenting classes for parents which are offered there at LMI every Friday.
I have two children that attended La Merced Intermediate. Overall this is a fine school, it offers music, art, drama classes. I am very pleased with the quality of their academic programs. After school tutoring is also available (some classes offer it, not all). School personnel have always been courteous and helpful. The teachers do hold the students accountable for their classwork/homework. However, the negative about La Merced is that, when my oldest son, who is autistic (high-functioning), first attend this school, I felt it was more of a 'trial and error' approach. My son eventually graduated, but it was a rough 3 years.
This school has some good programs for acceleratd students. But also has some over-crowded classrooms. Teachers are great. Administration could be better.
This school is great. The staff motivates the students to progess in their academics as well as extracurricular activities. The staff encourages the parents to get involved and also tutors the parents so they can help their own children when doing homework.
