I do not agree with these old post. My daughter gets way too much homework. To us it seems like a weeks worth of work for one night. My daughter has been mainstreamed and her level is not up to par. I wish I was able to keep her in the Special Education class for her first year at a new school. The Principal is Ms. Donally. She is GREAT. Always around if you need her, if not then she does get back to as soon as possible.

Montebello Intermediate was a pretty good school. The staff was fairly nice. The attendance policy is strictly enforced including tardies! I noticed the daily homework was not a whole lot if you compare it to AUSD. The classes that are offered are good and the way the class schedule is planned out for the students is very good. The students start class around 7:45am and end school at 2:00pm Tuesday -Friday and Mondays the students are dismissed at 12:45pm. Looking back I wish my child could have continued at this school but unfortunately we had to move. One thing I want to say is some teachers don't always get along with all students. As a parent make sure you talk to your child and ask how he/she gets along with his/her teacher just to make sure your child is in a comfortable,positive,non- judgemental and safe environment.I say It's a great school.

The new principal has not been announced and the district is apparently rotating a number of principals at all levels. Therefore, it is hard to tell whether the changes will result in greater and meaningful creativity or simply a lack of stability. MIS itself is a very gray school surrounded by a high fence. Little attention is paid to its physical features. In the upcoming year they are severely curtailing after school sports programs which the district has not revealed to parents.

Great school if your kid wants to learn. My daughter is in the Avid program which is for gifted students and she has benefited greatly from her experience at this school.
