Teachers here are too aggressive, they won't let the children use the restrooms when they raise their hands and ask politely. If your kid is known for being a little energetic, all the teachers automatically believe that he is a bad kid and won't let him explain what happened and just punish him. Their curriculum is ridiculous. My brother who is in first grade learned everything he is currently learning from his pre-school at a different school. After school they only have 2 teachers watching all the kids who are out and they leave after 30 minutes without a care if they were picked up or not. My brother who is 6 years old had a friend tell him to go to the office to call home to let us know that he got out early. The teachers who were on duty did not even say anything or care if they were left alone. Ridiculous school. Teachers are biased, unfriendly, and cold. I do not recommend your child come here. If possible try to get a permit to go to another school. WASTE OF YOUR CHILD'S TIME.

This school is an outstanding school. Yes the results from the STAR tests are not very high, but it is a very good school. The teachers are helpful, there are a lot of activities such as the spring carnival, and the principal has done a lot of things to enhance the school. My favorite year was my third grade year, and so far, my third grade teacher was by far the best. Of course, all of my other teachers did a good job in educating me too. That's why I am a straight A student at Richard Garvey Intermediate School

My 2 children attend Hillcrest. I am an involved parent, I request certian teachers for the following year, I ask alot of questions. Mr. Libby is a very involved principal and is ready and willing to hear any problems/concerns parents have. School staff is very helpful and know children by first name. As with any school, there are some teachers that should not be teaching (close to retirement and not motivated), but the majority of teachers are involved and care about their students' progress. Fourth grade GATE class with Ms. Tong was both challenging and a great opportunity. Ms. Lim, Ms. Wong, Ms. Tran, Ms. Cisneros are also excellent teachers. The only complaint I have is the lack of parental involvement. PTA does alot for the school, but could use help. Would love to see more after-school activities (art/chess classes).

My daughter and I love this school. All the teachers she's had are the best!! They truely love the kids and want the best for them. It's a smaller school located in a safe, quiet, family neighborhood. Our principal, Mr. Libby is great. He knows the kids by first name and works hard and is very active in all the school activities. I love the after school program. They assist with getting her daily homework done and they do 'fun' things too. I'm very pleased with Hillcrest in all aspects!!
