This school is a wonderful school for all kinds of kids, my son in particular is shy, and he comes home everyday letting me know how nice the teachers are and the kids who go there. This is only our first year in this school and I hope all continues to go well. In a couple of years my daughter will also be attending this same school, mean while we will finish up in a private all girls school that just didn't work out as well as it should.

Good staff, but the classes are fairly large. The education feels brusque, and it's difficult to get motivated. I'm transferring to the high school at Moorpark College instead. However, if you're into the high school social aspects, it'll probably suit you better. Otherwise, you're in for four years you'll probably hate.

The Principal and Teachers are great! Always available to help before school, lunch and after school. The teachers motivate the kids to really help them reach their learning potential. We also have so many great programs and clubs for envolvement for everyone to have great school spirit.

Moorpark high school not only has an excellent academic program with caring teachers, but also has a band program that is truly magnificent.

Moorpark has a great team of administrator, teachers, parents and students. They have won the nationral decathalon several times. It's a small school district, the teachers are dedicated and everyone works as a team

MPHS is an excellent school with wonderful, caring and very dedicated teachers. MPHS has a constantly growing variety of extracurricular activities, clubs, dance, band, Acca Decca and sports for the students to become involved in. There is something for every child. Moorpark High was a terrific school, up and coming with a dedicated staff that worked very hard to give students opportunities to express themselves. We had two children that attended MHS and both had a rich experience beyond basic classes: one lettered in football, basketball and golf. The other did field trips in astronomy and was on the school's first Academic Decathalon team (county winners; a later team won the national championship). Both got what they wanted. Good ethnic diversity. Parent participation in the school and in local activities (Scouts, Little League) is extremely high and active. Great school, great community to raise children.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
