My daughter states, 'There is no other school like NorthRidge! The teachers are funny and nice and it's a great place to learn. I think all students should attend NorthRidge!' Finding a Middle School for her (Honor Roll Student) is challeging because the schools requested are at their capacity. Where do she go from here?

I am a parent of a struggling student. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with how the Principal and his teacher have worked to provide support for him. They are always visible and I know that my child is safe and taken care of when at school.

This is our 7th year at NR and have always had nothing but wonderful things to say and think about the school. My kids have all excelled to what I believe is their highest ability and I thank the teachers for that. My middle son was almost failing reading in 1st grade and there was so much help offered and advice for home studies that he finished the year with a B. The teachers we have had have all expressed their affection for the children and are so accepting to parent involvement. The school has a wonderful principal. Choose NR, you won't be sorry.

Not all teachers seem qualified, not with my experience anyway. And the administration can use some Real training on how to deal with all sorts of children not just the Ideal child, they jump the gun. Warning: Do not even bother sending your child here if they are not perfect or ideal to begin with.

I would choose no other elementary school in the district. My child has loved every minute of her school time and the teachers are fabulous! Principal Knapp is what every school's administrative staff should aspire to be like. The academic curriculum along with staff and parental participation couldn't be better!

Almost all of the teachers are hard working and excellent teachers. There are a couple that are not good with parents.

Wonderful school! The #1 principal and staff are caring and dedicated. I currently have an honor roll 4th grader attending. My older son attended 3-5th and was very prepared for middle school. Accept no substitute! Northridge is the best and it has the test scores to prove it!

This has been a wonderful school for my son. It has been challenging with a lot of hands on experience on computers and a lot with space. A lot of parent involvement is needed. It is rewarding being able to participate so much with my childs education.

Overall I would say that NR is a great school. My daughter has been there for 4 years and we really have not had any problems. Her teachers have been awesome Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Hooper (great teacher) Mrs. Blevins (excellent teacher) Mrs. Marinez (awesome teacher). The only thing I would have to say is that the office staff seems to be unorganized, anytime I would ask a question to the office no one ever seemed to know the answer. Overall though we have been pleased with NR. And as far as safety goes I have never been too keen on letting little girls go off to the restroom by themselves you never know who could be hiding in those bathrooms, so that makes me nervous. But they seem to be overall pretty safe, it even seems that the janitor is keeping an eye out.

My daughter has attended North Ridge since Kindergarten and I have to say that she has had the most wonderful experience. All of her teachers have taken the time to answer any questions or concerns we have had throughout the year. I am so glad that she was able to build such a strong educational foundation which, I am certain, will remain throughout her school career. She will be leaving this year moving on to junior high, with the help of all her teachers, she is able to take that next step! Thank you to all the staff. You have been wonderful throughout the years!

As a teacher in the MVUSD district, and a parent of a child at NorthRidge, I would have to say that not only is NR the best school in MoVal, but it is one of the top 3 in the entire county.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.
