The teachers of Graham MIddle School are either strict or relaxed but if you don't follow their rules, they will be ver strict. They are there to teach you some of the principles that will be required for high school and onwards in life. For example, one of the teacher told us to take noted ahead of time, so when she would give us notes, we would only add extra thing we missed. That made a change. On the CST I've received Advance, something that I've never had in Science. In addition, it helps you stay focus in class. The teacher maybe tough or relaxed, but they willing to teach you if you are willing to them.
Graham has teachers that do their best in teaching and helping students, and as a graduate, I felt like it prepared me for high school. Also, there were no problems involving gangs or fights that I heard of. Graham prepares students for their future.
Graham was a great school. It had excellent extracurricular programs, such as an opportunity for students to tour the East Coast, an outstanding music and musical program, and one of the best live student-student run announcements on TV. The teachers at Grahams are all wonderful individuals. Most, if not all, participate in programs after school, like the East Coast trip or coaching sports teams or zero period classes. The administration at Graham is friendly and helpful, but is not the best organized. It also is not focused as one would hope. An interesting fact about Graham is its absence of a bell curve. Students either excel or fail. When all is considered, Graham is a good all around school.
The education at the school is great, the teachers know what they are talking about when they teach it, but there is a lack of actual discipline during most classes, and when interrupted most teachers will engage the disturbance for most of the class instead if simply sending them outside. But teachers all have great personalities and are fun to be around when your around them, and they all will help you pass with good grades.
Graham Middle school is a great place to learn and experience fun times because the staff provides a set of rules to make school a great happy and teaching environment and the smart staff teach the students well.
Graham is a school where the teachers want the students to succeed. Graham is a school where you know you are safe
My experience from the school, coming as a recent graduate, was definitely sub-par. The principal is nice and seems to be able to work effieciently, but never gets anything done, problem-wise. The campus is nasty, with trash and graffitti everywhere. The students are mostly okay, but there has been non-gang-related violence before. Graham recently created a new program, called Essential Elements that basically is a code of conduct for the school. They use a whole week of school time trying to teach kids to follow this code, focusing on 1 new "element" every day, for a total of 5 elements over 5 days. Certain teachers have given out gratuitous aounts of homework unproportional to homework the following year, where the teacher had assigned almost no homework at all, leading to general confusion from frustrated parents. They have almost no bullying protection, as well. The teachers, even presented with concrete evidence, they do not resolve the matter but ignore it. Graham Middle School gets 2 out of 5 stars for poor teaching and not preparing students for the coming years of high school.
Being a student that attended Graham, I felt as though its worm hospitality and brilliant teachers really propelled my academic career to new heights. One part of Graham that made the difference to me was the teachers. They really enjoyed teaching and helping students like myself find themselves more in such a awkward time in our young lives. Over all my experience there was good and I feel proud to be a Graham alumni.
My time at Graham was a good one. Over the past year, the changes made by the new principal have gone a long way toward improving the school's climate. Students are trusted to make good decisions and when they do are rewarded with more freedom. The teachers are supportive and want you to succeed and the students help support each other. There may have been issues with bullying, but I have never experienced any and I believe it to be fairly rare. Overall, Graham is a happy, diverse, and supportive learning environment and a wonderful community.
