Calvary is wonderful! The teachers and administrators are incredible servants who always go above and beyond the call of duty. We are blessed to have our kids in a school that is outstanding both academically and spiritually.
We've attended CCCS for 12 years. My oldest is a senior at a private university now and has a 4.0 GPA. He took several AP classes at Calvary and was completely prepared for college. He applied to 14 colleges and was accepted at 13. He will be going to medical school next year with 2 other CCCS graduates. My middle son got into trouble at one point and was dealt a very harsh punishment by the administration. He returned to CCCS the next year to find that the administrators were very negative and unforgiving towards him. I witnessed this at one point and was appalled. I hoped it was limited to one staff member but it was not. He felt penalized emotionally and psychologically by the administration/staff and it was so severe that we ended up taking him out of CCCS the next year. Although I believe the academics and extra-cirricular activites are on par with public school and I believe that the environment is safer than a public school; we don't plan to send our youngest to CCCS once he reaches junior high because we are so disappointed in the administration on the upper level campus.
Excellent School. The Teachers, Faculty, Admin, Students are fantastic and dedicated. Students learn ALL fundementals and we are very pleased with both of our childrens' progress. 5 stars +++ I have 2 childern in this school and thank GOD everyday for such an wonderful learning institution.
Both of my children attend this school and love it. The curriculum is challenging and definitely prepares students for college as well as life. The school has a fantastic sports and band program too. If you are looking for a Christ centered school that teaches to the whole child, this is the place to be!
My husband and I have supported three children through this school and completely regret it. The staff and teachers are anything but what I would consider a christian example. I am appauled that this institution is allowed to stay in business. Our oldest child who is now a senior in college said, that we shouldn't send our youngest there because he will never learn to think for himself. That was completely enlightening for us since he attends a Christian college. The administration is nasty and has no business being in charge of children and their futures. Don't waste your time or your hard earned money.
I love Calvary Chapel Christian School (CMCS), because of the many courses I learn as well as a Christian base foundation that I know will help me once I get into college. I learn much about my faith, and it is nice to know that one can bring a Bible to school and not be sent to the principle office. The First Amendment is no problem here. The faculty have a heart for the students there, and do their best.
I agree with the poster who said 'if you believe education is of great importance, don't send your children here'. I live in a community where the public school system is CA Distinguished and when I compared the work side by side throughout the entire year - it did not compare. My children are being transferred to another Christian school that is known for their college-prep courses and challenging curric. Calvary's faculty is very kind and loving though... some of the parents who claim to be Christian are a horrible example. A couple of years ago a small group if them went after a teacher with such vengence I honestly had never seen such hatred in the 3 years my child was in public school.
Our two children have attended for over 6 years now. The quality of education is at a minimum on par with public schools if not better. The extracurricular activitities are great. Subjects are taught from a Biblical worldview, they do not ignore other viewpoints. We have found most teachers helpful and receptive if there are problems. There is almost no emphasis on social engineering or subjects outside of the core subjects (math, english, history etc.), this is what we want. There is about an hour a day of additional class time compared to the local public schools as well as fewer 'short days'. We have also noticed that there is definitely an emphasis on college prep, which was apparently lacking in the past.
I had 2 children attend Calvary Chapel Christian School, one in elementary and one in junior high school. Their experience at Calvary Chapel Christian School established within them strong Christian and moral character. Academically they soared. One of these daughters just graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University. My other daughter maintains a 3.5 or better at a local public high school she currently attends. Without the support and quality education they received from Calvary Chapel Christian School they would not have the successes they have today.
My daughter attended Calvary Chapel Schools from start to finish. Two other schools that she attended in her life, one was Temecula Valley Christian Academy and Calvary Chapel Downey. Ashley was one of the first students at the newly built lower campus of Calvary Chapel Schools. The good outweighs the bad points with this school. Teachers and staff at Calvary are a chevron in quality, standards and morals. It was no mistake in sending my daughter to this school; it was Gods direction, it was the best recipe. She is presently attending Vanguard University with a 3.1 grade point average in Business Marketing. She has attained an internship with an investment firm in Irvine California. I feel that the Lord and the Calvary Chapel Group have been a tremendous blessing to my family and daughters life. I give highest accolades for this school honestly caring for its students and parents.
