This school is very excellent school and improving every year. The classes prepare students for university and the teachers are excellent Probably the best school in the inland empire.
Murrieta High is amazing because the teachers poor their heart and soul into what they are teaching. The campus is clean, and very diverse.
I just graduated and went to a four year university. I went there for my senior year, and I was sad that I wasn't there for the whole four. I got so many opportunities at this school. They offer amazing extracirriculars. I was in the robotics club and we got fifth in a national tournament. The teachers are strict but in a good way that prepared me for university work. Don't feel shy to send your children here, good things come to those who seek it.
This is our 2nd year at MVHS and my daughter is enjoying it. She is active in Choir and very outgoing with many diverse groups of friends. The administration is accessable and responsive to students and parents. I have found a couple teachers that didn't have my daughter's best interest in learning at heart or they just didn't care - she was moved to other classes where the teachers were much more interested in teaching and helping her. I do look forward to the opening of the new HS in August, it will reduce the student population greatly and probably remove all portable classrooms from the parking lot!
This is our first year at MVHS, and my daughter loves it. The staff and teachers seem to be very helpful and pleasant. I have 3 more to go here, so time will tell if their experiences are also positive.
Amazing facility, staff, and curriculum! The student comes first and parent involvement is strongly encouraged.
Like any high school in a growing area, Murrieta struggles with population on and off campus. However, the addition of a new high school and the advent of a third have relieved many of the problems. As a parent of a former student there, I can vouch for the quality staff, teachers and administration. A student's high school experience is a product of many things, teachers, staff, administration, activities, his/her involvement in /with all the above. Primarily, however, success comes from home. MVHS is there to help parents with everything from classes to counseling and when a parent cares enough to participate and check in, everyone is happier. My son's years there are fondly remembered. His successes personally and professionally are due in great measure to MVHS and it's staff at all levels!
This school has the most severe over-crowding problem of any in the area. The environment to learn does not promote any assistance to students as the teachers are so over-whelmed that there is no time for instruction; worksheets seem to be the norm everyday in every class...which to me is a cop out of teaching. If you have a child doesn't have an extremely high motivation to learn, they will fall through the cracks here. I would not recommend this school, in its present state, to any parent.
My son graduated from MVHS in 2005. He went to all 4 years here and is now in College on his second year earning a Ba in Business. The school is severely over crowded but if you get in there and participate, you will find teachers that really care and opportunities galore. However if your not a self motivated type you could get lost in this school of 2000+.
I just graduated from Murrieta Valley and I loved my four years there. Granted it wasn't always a walk in the park but the teacher care, especially the advanced teachers. I always felt safe and never saw any racial tension. The clubs and everything were great and all I can say is if you don't get involved you can't complain. Yeah it was a bit crowed but that's why we have a new high school. It might be cleaner but it also hasn't been around for so many years. Join up! Band is fun and definetly choir and just about all groups travel like choir went to Eurpope and Mr. Welch always goes to a foreign country.
