Love this school. Teachers and staff are wonderful. Good curriculum and academics. Love being a magnet school and the fun academies the kids get to do. The kids are all really sweet good kids, my child loves this school.
the staff is wonderful. The kids love the school and we have the best volunteers ever.....
This school has been an awesome experience for both my kids! Wonderfully caring teachers, kind & helpful office staff, Great parent involvement and a principal who knows all the children by name! It's the kind of environment any child will make life-long friends, gain lasting knowledge and thrive in.
The principal and teachers really care about the students. Teachers are very experienced, yet haven't lost the passion for teaching. They make a dramatic difference in our daughter's experience. She loves it.
Good, safe school. All three of my kids attended.
We are very pleased with the experience that our daughter had in Kindergarten. The teacher was knowledgeable and energetic. In addition, our daughter was made to feel comfortable-- a concern that any parent has on the first day of school. Great experience!
I can't say enough positive things about Alta Heights. I have a 4th grader and a 1st grader and they are getting the best education I could ever have hoped for thanks to the awesome staff. One correction to the previous review. The AHFFC raises around $70K annually to be able to provide all the unique programs this school has to offer.
My daughter has ADHD and has been attending school here for 4 yrs. The staff and faculty have always worked closely with her and made her school environment pleasant and academically challenging for her grade level. Her STAR test scores were way above average and she is reading at a 6th grade level in the 3rd grade. Principal Silva has created a close-knit community between faculty, staff, students, and parents. He has an amazing repore with every student in the school (he is able to call each one by name). There are several after school programs that allow the children to learn foriegn languages, dancing, art, computers, etc.The AHFFC contributes over $5,000 (maybe more) a year through fundraisers in order to fund such resources as an up to date computer lab and a librarian. I have yet to see a classroom that doesn't have at least two parents volunteering in it.
This is a really family friendly school. My daughter attened Alta Heights for 4 years. The teachers are in contact with the parents regularly. The staff knows the children by name. Our daughter has excelled in all areas.
Excellent teachers and academic program. State-of-the-art computers and program; choral and instrumental music program; arts program; about half of the parents very involved. Principal very involved in every aspect and knows just about all the students and their names.
