We're new to Northwood this year & the school is excellent. The principal is very involved, out and about. There are several ways to be involved in the schools activities- in room, fundraisors, monthly field trips, after school enrichment, PFC meetings etc. If you're involved in your childs education, your child will excel here.
I love Northwood! I had 2 of my children go there, one of them graduated and my other child is still attending. The staff are very friendly and the office secretary nows each child by there first name. I have nothing but nice things to say about this school. My children do very good there because they had very good teachers!
I would have to say I have been very pleased with Northwood.I have two children who attend this school and have enjoyed their time there. he teachers are great and (except one which let my son slip a bit in first grade.)Luckily I was on top of things and his second grade teacher worked with us to get him up to speed. The parents at Northwood are very willing to help out and create a fun and safe school for our kids.
My son has had three great teachers in his three years at Northwood. He has also been able to participate in music, PE and art activities. The only complaint we have about Northwood is that for a school in such a nice area, there do not seem to be many parents who want to help out. I know a lot of parents work full time, as do I and my husband, but the same people have to volunteer for every activity. This year the school carnival was cancelled for lack of volunteer involvement. Wonderful kids, great teachers and a concerned principal. Come on parents, let's step up!
For the over all Northwood is a very good school, lots of parent involement. With some of the teachers you do have to stay on top of them if your student is falling behind, the lack of communtiation is hard for parents to know. So a lot of calls have to be done sometimes, to get answears.
Northwood is the best Elementary School in Napa, all of my 3 kids went there and now my grandaughter just finished going there...
