LOVE Forest Charter.... Finally got my children out of the traditional public school system.... Forest Charter staff and teachers are so caring and take an actual intrest in every childs education. My children are flourishing in this program! Great school!
Absolutely fantastic! Teachers are wonderful and my son has never done better in school! Love, love, love it!
Forest Charter in Truckee Ca. Lets my grand child work and expand her talents at a pace that makes her love school and the whole learning process. She is looked at as a individual not a number. Love it and it has made a awesome experience for her and us in raising her.
Forest Charter is offering our son the perfect enrichment atmosphere for his homeschooling program. The complaints I hear about FCS are from parents who don't truly understand that this is a _homeschooling enrichment_ program. We do 3 days a week for 4 hours a day and it is an absolute wonder and blessing to our family.
This school is what you make of it. Many of the students use the flexible schedule so that they can pursue remarkable talents in art, dance, and drama. The college track kids are encouraged to take 2 classes per semester of community college classes in their junior and senior years, and can sometimes take these in their sophmore year. My son was given a special English honors class (class size of one) because his ES knew that he needed a prep class for college English instead of their usual program. Many kids fast track and are through with high school in 3 years. One girl that I know who fast tracked was accepted into Mills College. My son started his own web design business at 14 because of the skills he learned at Forest. These kids think outside the usual box.
I think there is room for improvement in the program, more classroom time than one or two days per week for Math, English, and Science classes. There is room for more professionalism and improvements in basic communication skills of staff. I think grads transferring to a four year college might be under prepared.
