My kid had Mrs. Savelly this year for 5th grade. Absolutely PHENOMENAL year, especially since the 5th grade had to move from Deer Creek Elementary to Seven Hills Intermediate. Her teacher was the right person for her, and the transition into the "bigger kid" school just flowed seamlessly thanks to the atmosphere of the classroom. I just want to say that if there were more teachers like Mrs. Savelly, all students would excel just wanting to their teacher. My daughter was TRULY LUCKY to have her for 5th grade!
Great teachers. Gave my children years ago a good education.
We Love Seven Hills School in Nevada City! We have an Inter-District transfer and it is so totally worth it. My children have received an outstanding eduation at this school. The teachers are wonderful. P.E. is somewhat lacking. But academics are great. My children have totally thrived in this environment. Principal is great. I look forward to another great year.
The school has some excellant teachers and some poor teachers (my wife works in the school district and I hear the good and the bad). Punishment policies are somewhat draconian which works well for some kids but can make things worse for others. There are some unique extra curricular classes if your child happens to get in. As an electrical engineer, I'm unimpressed by the computer class my son took.
I think that this school is excellent. It is a great acedemic challenge for my children and they really enjoy it
Seven Hills is a school that offers a strong core program with creative and fun electives in a safe and supportive environment. Students are well prepared to be highly successful in both high school and college. Parents are highly involved and contribute to the school environment in many ways. It is a wonderful school and a great place to be part of.
Some wonderful teachers, lots of parental involvement and a great principal make this school outstanding.
High quality education in the advanced math and english literature area. Some excellent teachers (Dowling/Sharp). Music program is lacking and orchestra (strings) and drama is weak, but struggling to survive under budget constraints. The PE program is also suffering, but the teachers and parents are working to improve these areas. Excellent middle school!
This is a school where if you have an older sibling or relative who might have been mentally challenged so was in trouble all of the time, that means that you are also a bad child right of the bat without given a chance and is picked on by the teachers. If you try and talk to the principal about the problem, he will tell you that the teachers are not allowed to do that. Well my child was a straight 'A' student before he started this school and now he is stuggling because of this problem. There is one teacher that if you do extra credit, if it is not good enough your grade goes down another level because she had to take time out of her schedule to read it. That is pretty bad. I think that they should at least get some kind of credit for trying. I will be so glad when he graduates from that school this year!
