Eastbluff is a great school in a wonderful family friendly neighborhood. A large percentage of parents are actively involved in supplying the support needed to maintain the non-state funded programs including technology, art, and physical education!
A wonderful school and community. Strong parental support and kids are encouraged to excel! My kids are happy and thriving!
Our child has been here 4 years now entering 4th grade. This USED to be a great school. The last couple years the quality of this school faded. The principal has no backbone in running the school, no sense of direction. The PTA runs the show.(The PTA has their "click" group and thats a different can of worms).Classrooms are over crowded due to the school continuing to accept children that belong to different schools. They are in the same district but live & belong to schools that are 15-25 min away. This has caused the school quality to diminish & teachers to have little patience with students. There are combo classes for every grade which is NOT good. Newport Beach is a prestigious, expensive city and this school is the only one that puts the city to shame with the CA SARC Report, a very low score for a high end living community. Eastbluff did not pass the basic math requirement from the state, that speaks volumes of the direction this school is headed and lack of principal direction. The scores go down each year. If there were discipline in not accepting kids that live miles away they wouldn't be in this situation. Very disappointing since we pay the high cost of living here.
Love this school! Everyone makes you feel very welcome and at home like a big huge family! Mrs Beck the principal is a great leader and smart. The teachers are great!!! Their different teaching techniques and their kind disciplinary method makes every student be very involved in learning and wanting to be good kids. There is also a lot of parent involvement, lots of great activities and funraisers which are well spent!!!!
Excellent school, staff, faculty, and principal. Great parental involvement. Kids are happy, safe, healthy, and learn a lot! Yes, there's a lot of fund-raising, but the money is being well spent.
I have a first grader and so far this school has been really great - lots of creative teaching methods, not just worksheets. The principal, Cheryl Beck is smart and open, seems like a great leader. It's a fun, spirited little school.
The school is wonderful, a small community where everyone is welcomed. The teachers are the best.
The teachers are first-rate, the parents are very involved, the neighborhood is welcoming and supportive, and the kids love it.
Fabulous teachers, wonderful parents and a great sense of community.
Eastbluff is a small school with tremendous parent involvement, great kids, and fabulous teachers.
Great smaller school. The school could use more funding but what school couldnt? Teachers are friendly & accessible. Circulum should be more difficult in my opinion. Fantastic art program but lacking in music program (but again this cost $). New principal (Beck) is much better than last years and has already improved the school alot. I find the PTA to be quite accomodating (more than any other school my son has gone to). I have never felt hounded or a high school mentality when I have not donated. We can not rely on the state to provide schools with $. In this day in age parents have to dip in to their pockets a little to improve their childs schools/education. Like the small size of school where my son is a name not just a #.
The greatest school without paying for private.Principal metoyer is a godsend. They are opening the science lab this year. They offer P.E., Music, art, computer all of which is funded by the pta/parents. The teacher's are wonderful and the school is in a quiet(except for airport traffic)hidden neighborhood. You feel safe leaving your kids their. There is a boys/girls club less than a block away. You can't pay for a better establishment! My daughter have been there since the second year of re-opening and next year will be her last year.
This is a great neighborhood school. It's small which gives it a very safe feeling. Con is the constant fund rasing ie: begging for money and the pressure and high school mentality if you aren't a huge contributor. It's really unfortunate.
Excellent quality of academic programs. From the classroom to extracuricular activities, the teachers build a great foundation and learning environment for children. High concentration on reading and expanding the child's imagination and academic reach.
I love Eastbluff in Corona Del Mar. It is one of the most charming, sweetest schools. It's not a crowded school, enabling teachers to give each student more attention (hoever there are some combo classes). The 6th graders have outstnading school plays every year, and I enjoy attending them. I love this school!
This school is a wonderful learning environment for my kids. The teachers are great; the principal is awesome. The parents are involved and fun.
