Great School. Teachers care about their students. Many well motivated students. Best way to succeed, choose your friends carefully.

In the magnet, the math and english are strong. In the non-magnet, like most LA schools, teacher quality is hit or miss, mostly miss. Teacher morale is low.

I am not a parent of a student who goes to this school, I was once a student myself. This school lacks organization and faculty participation. I don't even remember the principal's name. I probably heard it twice. I constantly felt as though I was in a bad high school movie. Half of the lockers were kicked in and there was grafitti everywhere. The teachers...let's just say that the 7th grade history teacher was trying to explain quantum physics. The experience was less than enjoyable.

I fear for the safety of the students who attend Sepulveda Middle School. There are too many individuals in charge , which makes it impossible for parents to get any issues resolved. Also, there are major problems with kids ditching classes. In my personal opinon I would not recommened this school for any child.

My experience at Sepulveda is horrible. My daughter has been at the school a month and still no locker, no Speech and Language or Resource. I haved tried several times but no luck. My daughter doesn't like it and told me about the things that happened with teachers and students. Teachers grading papers in class instead of teaching the subjects. I have seen alot myself when visiting, kids ditching school and doing everthinig to stay out of class right in front of teachers and staff. It is hard for students to meet with the teachers or faculty because they leave right afterschool instead of staying to see if students/parents may need to talk with them. I feel bad since she doesn't have a choice in schools to attend. My daughter should enjoy learning, but instead dreads school and is losing motivation for school.

Academics and extracurriculum are important. The first year in the Magnet program was wonderful. The second year seems to be the same. The Magnet office admistration is very available, helpful and supportive. The children are exposed to information through a faculty which enjoys teaching. The work load is heavy and the projects are hard but meaningful. Everyone is well prepared for high school. I strongly recommend taking a tour of the Magnet program at Sepulveda and be grateful if your child is accepted.

We have had nothing but trouble with the faculty at this school. From a prinicpal who won't return phone calls to a magnet program filled with staff and teachers who care little for the students, it is a wonder any child learns. They are told to memorize, they are not taught. It is a shame and a wonder that this school is even considered magnet. A prime example of LAUSD at its worst.

My daughter is having some trouble getting used to the school. Of course, I don't know if she will. The teachers don't really seem to encourage her that much and she's having a lot of trouble getting enough time to do other things.
