Some old friends from my St. Jane's 8th grade graduating class have been talking on Facebook about a reunion soon, and this talk has rendered me nostalgic of my 9 years at St. Jane's (K-8). I'm happy to see that the school continues to be rated so highly. I received an excellent education there, along with a childhood of fond memories, and good friends. My personal story about the moral and academic excellence of St. Jane's: At 5, I went to a public kindergarten. My parents were unimpressed, and opted to enroll me in Catholic school. St. Jane's interviewed/tested me for 1st grade. I scored in the 99th percentile on all standardized tests, but I was apparently very shy around anyone but Mom and Dad. When asked direct questions by the principal, I was silent. My birthday was right on the cusp between K/1st grade, and St. Jane's wisely said that 1 more year of Kindergarten would strengthen my social development among teachers and peers, and I'd flourish as a child and a student. My parents listened-I'm glad they did! 9 years later, I graduated c/o '96 as co-valedictorian, had a 3.9 GPA at NDHS, and attended UC Berkeley. Thanks, St. Jane's, for giving your students a head start.
Amazing gem hidden in North Hollywood. Enthusiastic leaders, great teachers, stellar academics and extra curricular.
Great catholic school including preschool/prek program! Teachers care about each and every student. It's a little community where everybody knows everybody and the kids enjoy school and all other activites, such as sport,s art, afterschool care, summer camp, etc.
Academics & teachers are outstanding. Great school with loads of extra curricular activities.
Small school with a big heart. Energetic and hands on principal bringing this diamond in the rough current. A sweet and bonded community, that deserves to win this contest!
This school is innovative and has an amazing parent student participation... You walk onto this campus and feel the passion for it's growing community and school pride.
