We love this school. The principle has had such a big impact on the school and our community. We have had four teachers so far and feel that not only are our children are getting all needs met, but they are always being challenged.

Even after reviewing the "criteria" greatschools.net uses to review and make their ratings, it is unclear to me why LV doesn't have a higher rating. Using API results, the state gives LV an "8", but the more important ranking is the "similar schools" ranking by the state, giving LV a "10" ranking - one of only two schools in Marin County to receive a "10" (the other is in Southern Marin). These are more accurate rating as they take into account the diversity our school is lucky to have, and shows that our students score well when compared to students with the same socio-economic demographic, and to schools with a similar make-up. This site is confusing to new parents looking up schools, so if test scores are the main marker you use to evaluate a school's potential, I would urge you to go the NUSD offices and get the scores comparing students of the same socio-economic status. You will find that basically, if a student has college-educated parents and does not qualify for Free/Reduced lunch, the student will typically score over 900, regardless of what school they attend. The district has the numbers to break this down, as the CDE website does not do this.

We are very happy to support our local school by having our kids attend. Loma is a very nice school and the principal is excellent. She has established an incredible environment with the limited resources available to our public schools. The parental involvement is very good and the school is moving up in scores readily because of all the hard work and support. I cannot imagine spending money for a private school when we have such a resource in our backyard. The test scores prove it!

I have two children at LV and they are both excelling. We are lucky to have not only a great principal, Eileen Smith, great teachers, and dedicated parents, but also many unique enrichment programs. We were voted "the greenest" school in Marin. We have both accelerated learning classes as well as intervention classes. We are very proud of our school and are working hard everyday to make it even better Support your local school..

I am so excited that our school just received a "10" similar school rank. We are one of two schools in Novato to receive this rank. Yippee!

Wow! Our principal, Eileen Smith, just received an award for 'Principal of the Year' in Marin County- no easy feat in a county with some of the best schools in the country! We're so proud to be a part of Loma Verde, and love the teachers, staff & parent community. It's great that our neighborhood school is so excellent, an that my children's friends are all 'local'.

It is our neighborhood school and I love that my child can walk to school and get together with other children in his neighborhood. The teachers are great.
