Alright it is beyond me how schools like Lafayette have stellar ratings while St. Vincent gets complaints. The school's job is not to pander to parents. This place is amazing and I am super sad to have to transition out. My son has been going here since he was 2. The children are all way ahead for their age levels and each class has a rigorous curriculum. The student to teacher ratio is super low and your child is getting a lot of one on one attention. Diversity is very high here in students and teachers, which I think is a plus. I've never been treated with anything less than respect. The school really goes out of it's way to give these children a quality education and great experiences.
Although this school is located in a rough area, the kids are beyond safe inside of their enormous playground, complete with jungle gyms and basketball courts. I interned here for a semester, and the teachers work very hard to let their students go to a private school and rise above the bad neighborhood they come from. The facilities are excellent, and I highly recommend this pre-school to every child.
I would like to say that my experience at St.Vincent wasn't very great. If you have a very energetic child and don't really familiarize yourself with staff, your somewhat on outkast. Staff is very unprofessional, they roll their eyes at you, speak rudely and god know's what one's child must experience if that's a component.
School is clean, safe (although located in bad area). Curriculum, resources, and materials are abundant, but level of instruction by teaching staff is lacking, especially for an enrollment as small as 71 students. Ultimately, it is the 'learning' that is most essential for any school regardless of resources.
