This is one of Oakland's failures, it is an embarrassment to education. I had to remove my child from there. The district needs to close this site.
They utilize the transformative power of the arts to meet the academic and social needs of all students who have an interest in artistic exploration in a nurturing, art integrated high school through culturally relevant best practices. This school will revolutionize the artistic academic approach in inner city school. Most programs that have the programs that this school offres are expensive or usually ran by small non profit orgs with limited resources. They have the trained staff and support that really can make a change. If they get the parents on their side this will be some special. I not being from this community hope their community knows about them and supports them.
