High-quality Spanish-English immersion schools with openings are hard to come by in East Bay. I was thrilled when EBI opened its doors this year and was not surprised by the demand: Parents immediately volunteered to prepare the building for opening day. The school opened with 80 children enrolled in pre-K and kindergarten. The curriculum is structured and play-based and taught by native speakers of Spanish. The teachers are highly-educated: my son's preschool teacher, who is from Mexico, has a Master's degree in education and 20 years of teaching experience. The student to teacher ratio is 6 to 1, which allows for one-on-one interaction. There is an afterschool program and extracurricular activities: karate, flamenco dancing, Spanish classes, ceramics and more.

Escuela Biling e Internacional is a new bilingual independent school. My child has just started in the kindergarten class. She is very happy there. They offer a Spanish immersion curriculum and have specialists in English, Music and Art. The school has a very dedicated parent group and excellent teachers and leadership.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
