Academic focus and philosophy

Educational philosophy and approach to learning At the heart of the EBI academic program is our mission and our core values of bilingualism, educational excellence, diversity, international mindedness and character. EBI was founded to be a Spanish/English pre-kinder-8th grade school authorized to offer both the IB Primary Years Programme and is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme. Our language model and the International Baccalaureate reflect our core values and form the backbone of the EBI curriculum.

Parent involvement details Parents receive a weekly newsletter to stay in touch with what's happening in the classroom and with the school in general. Parents have 3 formal parent/teacher conferences a year and are invited to observe the classroom at any time. Parents volunteer in the classroom or as field trip chaperones.
Approach to addressing and preventing bullying At Escuela Bilingüe Internacional, we support students in becoming their best selves. In our community students feel appreciated, included and safe. Our school is a Bully-Free zone; we are committed to having our school be safe and supportive for all. We use TALK, a protocol that teachers will follow to facilitate the resolution of persistent or disruptive conflicts between two students.
