My daughter is in the 2nd grade. She came to Lakeview in 1st grade after being homeschooled in Kindergarten. We were blessed to be assigned to a seasoned teacher and one who met the needs of every child in her class. My daughter excelled well and is in another great class this year. The Principal of the school seems a bit unmatched career wise and seems to be lifeless. The office staff are disconnected as well and not very attentive to the public/student/parent needs from a communicative standpoint. Being a school secretary for twelve years myself, I really feel that the office staff has to be especially together because they are usually the first impression.
Lakeview serves a diverse community providing all students with an academically rich, multicultural education, enabling students to respect one another at the same that they learn about others and earn respect for themselves and others.
My son is a student at Lakeview and he's done exceptional during the time he's been there. His first year there, the teacher he had wasn't quite experienced and had a lack of knowledge when it came to dealing with kids. His teacher this year is very experienced and she's very good with my son. The principal lacks a sense of communication when it comes to the parents. It's obvious she never received proper training or doesn't have the common sense it takes to deal with other people, and the same goes for some of the staff that works in the office. Lakeview has an excellent after school program for the children, and the staff for the program is great. They work well with the kids and teach them many different social skills.
I have a third grader that attends Lakeview. My daughter has a excellent teacher, she make sure that they understand all assisgnments. The staff is always there to help out with questions you may have.. I must say that we do need more of parent participation... Ms. Johnson
Good Teachers. Could be better with more tools from the City or the Governor. Little to no supervision after school for 1st Month when school starts in Sept. Parents, be on time to pick up your kids!
I believe Lakeview is very good school. My son was in kindergaren there with Mrs. Mclaughlin. He excelled and performed very well under her teaching.
There have been times where children have been left unsupervised in the yard after school. Close proximity to freeway is not ideal. Parent involvement is minimal. Facilities mirror those of minimum security detention center.
School needs more parental participation and resources.
This is my daughter's second year at Lakeview. Thus far, her teachers have been excellent! I have very much appreciated their commitment in working with me to ensure that she is focused and learning. The staff is always available to answer questions, as well as, receive constructive criticism.
Due to changes are in the making, I feel that lakeview, will be ok. If you the parent are involve with your child and childs teacher you may get better results.
