I could have never picked a better school for my grandson to go to. Every teacher every volunteer all the staff has alway put 110% or more to help every student do there personal best in what ever has to be done. From the classroom to the library down to the cafeteria workers. Even with our new principal that has only been there for a year she cares just as much as the principal we had before. My grandson and granddaughter as well as all the other children's that go to Mission Elementary I know are happy and proud to learn and enjoy going to school every day. To Mission Elementary Thank You Bunches.... :):):)

Forgot to mention my teacher, I still remember my 5th Grade teacher Mr. Lozano. I was in his last class. RIP Mr. Lozano.

I have been involved with Mission Elementary for 10 years. My oldest child is now a senior at Oceanside High. My youngest is in 4th grade at Mission. The teachers, staff and principal(s) give 110%. They have pride in their work, students and school. There have been times when Mission Elementary has had low test score. There have been times of High test scores. Through it all the teachers strive to improve. They are happy, helpful people at Mission. All staff at Oceanside schools are caring, helpful, well educated and striving for improvement where needed and praising their achievments.

The teachers are stretched to achieve higher test scores while dealing with language barriers. The programs are geared towards the population encompassing ELD programs. Limited parental involvement due to language issues. P.E. weekly with a P.E. teacher. Limited music, art and extra curricular activities.

The academics program is average as well as the music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities BUT principal and teachers need promote more parent involvement and there is a high need of more 'school spirit'. This school needs some live, needs to be fixed in its infrastructure and this will promote students and parents to feel a better school spirit. It's a very dull school.
