well, i go to yorba and let me tell you it's not as bad as people think it is. it's fun and the kids are nice including teachers. They have excellent electives such like; music(band orchestra and guitar), choir, art, ASB, avid, drama.. and so many more. I'm an ASB student and let me tell you from my point of view, Yorba has been my FAVORITE school! it's awesome, i love it.I'm going to be an 8th grader soon and i don't ever wanna leave. My friends are awesome the only thing i don't like is our new principal, but other than that Yorba is a great school, who cares what people tell you they might be as fake as the lie they have given you.Yorba s my school and i wouldn't change it for anything.

Dont judge a book by its cover. Thats what really makes me mad when people who dont even attend/work at yorba say its such a bad school when they havent even experienced it. I love it! It has great teachers and lots of fun activities. Really, Yorba to me is the best middle school I've experienced! Also other students are so nice! I have many, many friends that I have made there! There may not be many electives but the teachers in the one they give are very nice like in music. Please give the school a chance!

Well i go to Yorba and it's not as bad as everyone thinks. There are fun electives and an honors program and a good p.e. department. The teachers are great too. I'm in honors classes and i feel like I'm learning many new thing. But I don't like the new principal and vice principal considering the last two were a lot better. The school also shows videos on Friday and Mr.s Snyder is my favorite teacher.

Okay, so Yorba doesn't have the best test scores in the entire district: oh well. Think about it: not every place your child goes to is going to be perfect. The teachers there are great. Every week for Avid, a student is sent home with a progress report. And if parents request it, they can get a progress report, no problem. Yorba has a variety of art-related electives: music (band and orchestra), choir, drama, and art. There are many times when a student can get involved with the school, and have a say in what's going on. Their sports record is great too. Their seventh grade volleyball team this year was nearly unbeatable! So before you go and put Yorba down, think about how more people say it's a good school, who offers discipline and respect. Also think of this: a student is writing how much she loves this school.

In response to the last post, Ms Wilfreth is an English teacher. But I agree that Yorba has some of the best math teachers. My daughter is in 8th grade Algebra Honors, and she's glad that she received the instruction that was offered in 7th grade. Reviewing the material in Pre-Algebra allowed her to be completely prepared for Algebra. Your son may think it's repeated work, but he'll realize it was well worth it when he does well in Algebra because of the 7th grade math. I also think it's unfair to not give the Yorba teachers credit for the improved test scores. They're doing a great job.

I have nothing against the teachers at Yorba. In fact my son said Ms. Wilferth is the best math teacher he has ever had. Coming from the Gate Program at Palmyra, that is a great compliment. However, the curriculum is very disapointing. The Honors classes offer my 7th grader material that was covered in the Gate Program in 4th and 5th grade. This worries me. I think the teachers should be informed about what is being taught at elemementary schools and not repeat the same lessons that were already taught. I also beleive that the test scores went up this year due to the training in elementary school, not from the curriculum being taught at Yorba.

Yorba has some of the finest teachers in the county. They are dedicated to teaching and willing to spend many hours after school assisting any student in need.

I am actually removing my child from this school because it is so bad. Look at their test scores - that should be enough to discourage you from enrolling your child. The staff are difficult to deal with. Both of my kids have attended this scholl and in both cases to say I was under-whelmed with the staff is an understatement. In the 3 years total that my kids attended Yorba I received 1 progress report - even after requesting weekly updates. This school to me is the perfect example of how public schools are failing. Trust me - you will not be impressed.

I'm a student at yorba (not a parent) but i thought who better to tell about yorba than one of the students.Yorba is actually a great school, it is my first year there but so far so good. The teachers are good (i like my teachers but can't speak for the other studebts). For those who think yorba is not agood school, your wrong it is a very good school. I do have a tip if you (parents) plan on enrolling you r child in yorba, don't select art or drama (i heard from my friends that they are not as nice as the other teachers). There is a choice between chior, band, drama, art, and avid a colllage preperation class.
