My son spent 3 wonderful years at PTS. His grades gradually improved from B to A+. He finished the 8th grade with 4.0 GPA. PTS was absolutely the best thing happened to my son, as he flourished in a small school environment with personal attention from all the teachers. He was very shy when he started in the 6th grade, but went on to win the science fairs EVERY year, even winning awards at the Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair. If you are looking for great education for your kids, this is the school for you. If you are looking for the most impressive facilities and buildings, this is not the right school for you.

this is my second year at pts last year the principle was not good, this year we got a new principle and i thought things would get better but no it was just the same and the teachers are very unorganized just take me for example i am about a c average student caught up in a sea of A+ students and if you think youre doing your kid a favor and getting extra help youre wrong because its even worse than the public school one of the teachers dos not put anything in the computer system all but 2 teachers actually help me long story short the school is not a good school at all and im so happy that im going to carnegie next year

Fantastic School!! I wanted to take the time to give this school the well deserved recognition for it's excellent teachers, administration, parent volunteers(wish there were more), and support staff. From the custodian to the principal - all are child/family focused. we will be sad to leave for high school but happy to have had the 3 wonderfully enriching years with PacTech

I am happy with how my son is doing. His grades are up. The teachers are friendly and understanding. They seem to do their best at providing fun after school activities. I like the small class sizes.

This is a really good school. This is my second year at this school and i realize its waayyy better than the school i wanted to go to. my only complaint is the history teacher. he gives you negative points for no reason! the phone rang one time and i was still trying to find where we were reading, and then he told me to read and i couldnt find it and he gave me (or at least he said) a NEGATIVE point. it was pretty obvious that he didnt though, but its still not nice to tell that to someone when your not going to do it. my favorite teacher is my art and science, and laguage arts teacher. my friends are all very nice and i dont want to leave the school! we are getting a science lab soon at our school! its sooooo cool!

This school has roughly 130 students. I love knowing my son is not at a junior high, lost in a crowd with hundreds of students. Anytime I've addressed a concern it has been taken care of immediately and resolved. They absolutely do not tolerate any bullying. The teachers are caring, good-hearted individuals and communicate promptly. My son has had a huge transition coming into the school and they helped us through it all. Great school!

This is our third year at PTS and we have had a great experience. My son is learning Spanish and computer skills as his elective courses. There is a new Principal and that is a new view on the administrative aspects. The classes are small and the pupils get a lot of one-on-one attention. The comments I have read from some about bullying I don't understand at all. The only time we personally had an issue it was brought to the principal and was dealt with immediately. The afterschool clubs and dances are great - no drama, all the kids get along and treat each other well.

While the majority of teachers that work at PTS are credentialed teachers and are excellent teachers be aware that some are not mainly the elective program such as art, forign language. These subjects seem too be taught by faculty family members or parents who speak the language. I think the manner in which the teachers are treated is the reason for tye high turn over rate. Teachers are extremly micro managed in my opinion. I also as a parent fnd it very frustrating that we are supposed to be a science and technology oriented school but cannot even utilize a descent web page for the school. The current director is in his first year at our so campus a little grace will be given but I have yet too hear him address a question or concern directly, he can not form a proper english sentence and does not comand any sort of presence in a sence he's clueless. I'm sadden because I had high expectations for this school. I wish the administration would listen more too its families and maybe then (being this is a school complaint) be able to retain students year after year. Good Luck to any parent who wants ro actually partner with their childs school this is not the place.

I really like this school. My daughter is starting her third year here. I was very concerned when I learned that we had a new principal and that several teachers were not returning or had been replaced, but everything is working out great. My daughter loves geometry, which is being taught by one of the new teachers. Her art teacher truly understands art (and how to teach it) and her Spanish class (also taught by a new teacher) is a great challenge. The new principal is working hard to bring new technologies to the school despite the budget cuts all schools are facing, and he listens well to the concerns of parents. Because of this, parents are working hard to help him make PTS the best school in the area. I especially like this school because students are recognized to be individual people with different strengths and weaknesses. For example, there are clubs for the kids who love computers and engineering and there are programs to help those kids struggling with math or writing. This school won't leave your student behind. I can't wait to be able to send my son here, too.

This is my daughter's second year at PTS. After a very successful year, she was excited to return. I was a little less excited because there had been a fairly large turnover in teaching staff and a new principal; I was really hoping that they would carry on the same high standards of education and feeling of community as last year. It was a bumpy first week adjusting to the changes, but I feel that it's been onward and upward every week since. The new principal is so far proving to be amazing. I am inspired. He is focused on upgrading the 'tech' in our technology school, but also in investing in the development of his teaching staff, creating a strong sense of community, and student security and happiness. At last, a principal who understands that API scores don't tell the WHOLE story and that children who LOVE to come to school and ENGAGE in their classrooms because they have committed, inspired, excited, passionate and capable teachers who are backed up by their administration, are children who are in the optimum space to LEARN. NOT memorize, regurgitate, test out and forget, but LEARN. UNDERSTAND. THINK. PROBLEM SOLVE. This school is exactly what MY child needs.

I 'am a student at pts last semester in 6th grade the principle is very strict not thats its a bad thing . Some teachers treat some kids better than others. At this school teachers allow curaing,Bulling,ATTITUDE!!!!!!! Not being dramatic but in the 2 semester I had an issue with bulling my self this kid picked on me non stop and I was out side watching my freinds play a game and the same kid came up to me pushed my foot off the slide that i was watching my friends on so i got off and asked him "why did you do that" BULLY,"cause i can" so i punched him in the mouth and broke his tooth and cut my hand ,so kid told on me then the yard duty sent me to go to the bathroom to wash the blood from my wound off, the disiplin person was extremly rude to me saying that i was a bully my self for defending my self as my hand was dripping blood so $3,000 later in medical bills he tells me that the kids family isnt having my parents pay for the medical bill.Rude !!!! but after all its not a bad school. -Matthew holbert former student at pts :(

My friend suggest me this school. I went their open house twice. Later I checked their data ans they are doing great jop it is mazing. Ihave son and I`m going to enroll him for next year. Look at their vision "Graduates of Magnolia Public Schools are scientific thinkers who contribute to the global community as socially responsible and educated members of society." Thank you very much for operating this school around Orangevale.

I am the School Secretary and Office Manager at Pacific Technology School in Orangevale and I can assure you that neither grades nor statistics are inflated at our school for any purpose. The numbers contained in our school's SARC report come from the Calif. Dept of Ed (CDE) and can be verified on their web site. Thank you.

cIn response to the parents who think the school responded to the problems and fixed them - that is an incorrect assumption. I am one of several parents who finally left the school because they refused to address the problems. Leaving that school was the best thing we ever did - my child is finally not having nightmares from the incessant bullying, and is enjoying school again! Obviously not every child who attends PTS suffers these problems. I just find it inexcusable that there are so many who do and the school wants to pretend its not an issue. Also - I noticed the school was artificially inflating my child's grades for temporary periods, then lowering them back where we expected. My strong suspicion is they were artificially inflating scores for SARC.

I heard such GREAT things about this school 2 years ago. My child went there last year and it was the worst decision I could have ever made for my child's education. They play favorites with the children. Their were even kids calling some of the staff mom and dad (in Turkish, how inappropriate), I couldn't believe it when I heard it!!! They do not communicate well with parents. I heard 2 of the staff call 2 children liars (to their face). They make all kinds of empty promises to the kids and parents at the beginning of the year and then never follow thru!! You will provide your child a better future and education by sending them to a school that really cares about your child and their education vs. trying to get the schools name and pictures in the newspaper. Every student for themselves at this school!!!

Amazing! A place with Advanced Technologies and yet good old fashion values and respect! Love it. I'm very happy I sent my daughter here. Learning advanced math and sciences as well as learning life lessons and how the world works. The teachers are so dedicated! And the principal gives everything he's got. It seems to be a team effort and they are on the side of our kids......

I firmly believe this school is the best choice in the area for high achievers or GATE kids. The teachers are very well qualified with real world and international experience, and I have been very impressed with them all for their expertise, teaching skills and involvement. There are many opportunities for advanced learning in all subjects, not just math and science, including free high quality after school programs and tutoring. The smaller class sizes and team project-based learning opportunities offer much better class dynamics. My 6th grade son is completing a very successful and satisfying school year at PTS and my daughter can t wait to attend in August.

This is my daughter's second year at Pacific Technology, and she has had a great experience. She is a year ahead of her peers in Math, and I am impressed at what she is learning in her other subjects. She is also learning computer programming. I love the small class sizes and the uniforms. I am only giving it four stars instead of five because as it is a new school, they are still working out some kinks. Overall we are very pleased.

My son just started this year (6th grade) and I am so happy watching him finally living up to his real potential. He came from a class of 34 (5th grade) to only 19 students per class. This has made a huge difference! He loves the afterschool programs. The staff is amazing and they go above and beyond!
