Fantastic school - from the principal on down - with VERY active parents - great teachers and policies - lots of fund raising - the arts (drama, music) is exceptional - best public school (Charter) I have seen in LA
My son just graduated. He had the time of his life and the best learning. His last year was phenomenal! His teacher, Mr. E. was the greatest, most impactful teacher her has ever had. A good teacher can make a world of difference and certainly did for my son. Thanks Mr. E. for a fabulous year. Thanks Pali Elementary for a lifetime full of fabulous friends and memories,.
My grandson loves to go to school every day and is excited about the process of learning. He has an excellent teacher that has made this happen
The parent involvement, student body, and teachers.
becaue it give all personal care and attantion to kids
This is an above average school with a very strong community behind it. I think sometimes the enthusiasm of that community can prevent parents from seeing some of the flaws in the school. The principal is not very innovative nor particularly bright and that seems to have stalled the curriculum. Instruction is frankly dull and uninspiring. The kids are learning the material, but there isn't much joy or enthusiasm around the work. The better teachers here transcend this by going off-book, but some of the teachers, in particular in 4th and 5th grade, are taking the easy approach and doing really dull units. I felt sorry for my daughter when I saw the assignments and projects she was doing in 5th grade. This is a good school, no doubt, but it could be a great school with a little more creativity
Palisades Charter Elementary School is exactly what we all wish a school should be. The administration is devoted to making the best of resources and involving the community. The teachers are devoted to their profession and helping the children. The student body is a real slice of life, an excellent social environment to accustom and prepare the children for real life. The support of the parent's group makes up for LAUSD funding problems by providing wonderful art, music, and athletic activities. All put together, the attitude of the administrators, teachers, pupils, and parents is strong and extremely supporting.
Parents, teachers, administrators and staff are collectively committed to giving our students the best possible education. It's a true "neighborhood" public school.
Palisades Charter Elementary school is a wonderful school where the children's voices are hear and cared for.I am a parent of a child with special needs who struggles with his own voice, who since joining this school is nutured and cared for. This is a wonderful school.
It's a terrific community of teachers, staff, parents and children.
