A wonderful gem in the community. Superb administration, teaching, and staff; accompanied by unbelievable parent involvement.
My children have attended Palisades Elementary since kindergarten and overall their experience has been excellent. While there are some bumps in the road caused by LAUSD hiccups, the charter process, caring faculty, involved parents and a principal experienced with the bureaucratic district nonsense are extemely important and highly valued.
If you live in the Pacific Palisades (or want to Lottery in) and you have your concerns/doubts about Public School/LAUSD, yes it's a "system" but with the superb leadership of "both" the dynamo and truly caring Principal, plus the passionately involved and seriously committed, hard working parents this LAUSD Elementary is a "Gem"! Academically, it's seriously comparable to (and in some case(s), beats) local privates. Consider saving your money for middle or high schools, or most of all, college. A well run, relatively small, historic treasure that has an "authentic" connecting school community.
Pali Elementary is a great school... the administration, office staff and all the teachers really seem to care about our children. Each child is considered for their unique personality and talents. There is no "box" your child is put into...it is a friendly and inviting environment . Highly recommend the school!
The school is fantastic. The teachers are academically strong and extremely caring. My daughter is doing very well academically, she is happy and she is receiving a wonderful, well-rounded experience. A real part of the community (it seems we are saying hello to fellow parents and kids everywhere we go in the neighborhood)! We love Pali Elementary!!
Pali Elementary is a solid community, with families sharing the enthusiasm of the school's leadership and educators for ensuring excellence in education at the school.
Fantastic school - from the principal on down - with VERY active parents - great teachers and policies - lots of fund raising - the arts (drama, music) is exceptional - best public school (Charter) I have seen in LA
My grandson loves to go to school every day and is excited about the process of learning. He has an excellent teacher that has made this happen
This is an above average school with a very strong community behind it. I think sometimes the enthusiasm of that community can prevent parents from seeing some of the flaws in the school. The principal is not very innovative nor particularly bright and that seems to have stalled the curriculum. Instruction is frankly dull and uninspiring. The kids are learning the material, but there isn't much joy or enthusiasm around the work. The better teachers here transcend this by going off-book, but some of the teachers, in particular in 4th and 5th grade, are taking the easy approach and doing really dull units. I felt sorry for my daughter when I saw the assignments and projects she was doing in 5th grade. This is a good school, no doubt, but it could be a great school with a little more creativity
Palisades Charter Elementary School is exactly what we all wish a school should be. The administration is devoted to making the best of resources and involving the community. The teachers are devoted to their profession and helping the children. The student body is a real slice of life, an excellent social environment to accustom and prepare the children for real life. The support of the parent's group makes up for LAUSD funding problems by providing wonderful art, music, and athletic activities. All put together, the attitude of the administrators, teachers, pupils, and parents is strong and extremely supporting.
Parents, teachers, administrators and staff are collectively committed to giving our students the best possible education. It's a true "neighborhood" public school.
Palisades Charter Elementary school is a wonderful school where the children's voices are hear and cared for.I am a parent of a child with special needs who struggles with his own voice, who since joining this school is nutured and cared for. This is a wonderful school.
A great community school with a respect and zest for learning, communication and the nurturing of young minds.
Great kids, eager to learn, committed parents, and very hard working group of teachers come together to build a great school
Great value structure - and school rules (mutual respect, attentive listening), and I really like that one of the primary mandates of the school is developing interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Great community of parents and teachers supporting excellent public education
