From the day that my daughter first stepped onto the Calvary campus (3 years ago) to today I have been astonished at the caliber of Calvary. At a time when budget cuts are causing music and arts programs to be cut and class sizes to drastically increase Calvary remains committed to a 10 - 1 ratio!!! They have expanded their technology programs, music programs (including choir, orchestra, and band) as well as created a fantastic and expressive art room. In addition to all of this they are committed to excellence in every area from community service to spiritual training to the INCREDIBLE academic environment. I know have a preschooler a child in mommy and me and a first grader and at each stage in the process I am overwhelmed by the excellence with which this school is run. Here's to MANY more fantastic years of learning, creativity, and challenge at Calvary.

After looking at all of the choices for preschool and grade school in West LA, we decided on Calvary and have been extremely happy with the decision. We have one in kindergarten and one in preschool, and the entire school experience has been very positive for our boys, us as parents, and our family as a whole. We love the focus on building character, and the results are readily apparent in all of kids we have met who are in the older grades and in middle school. In addition, we have had the opportunity to several alums of Calvary (through personal connections and not referred to us by the school), and across the board they all say the received a great education in a wonderful values based environment. To top it off, the new Head of School is an extremely talented and high energy man who comes from a great school in Palm Desert. His leadership an style is already showing through in the school, and we are excited about his ability to make a great school even better.

Calvary Christian School has been a fabulous experience for my child and our family. The Academic Excellence and Christian Values ring true throughout this gorgeous campus. The teachers are wonderful and definitely prepare the students for middle school. My child feels loved, supported and encouraged. I can't recommend this school enough~ The staff and administration are top notch. This has been the best experience.

Calvary has been an excellent experience for our family. We carefully chose it after considering other top-tier private elementary schools in West LA. It has superior academics, a nurturing environment, an incredible arts program and many wonderful families. The new head of school has knocked our socks off and will surely make it an even better school than it is already.

This school may now have a chance to be what it once was now that the principal, and the wealthy family that vetted and supported her, have left. Over the last ten years this school was taken over by a virus in the form of it's principal and her supporters who ran the school solely for their own purposes and left many wonderful children in the dust while those in the inner circle got straight A's and matriculated to the finest high schools. Let's hope the new administration can restore a degree of quality and fairness.

We have had a great experience at Calvary. The academics are very strong and the atmosphere has been great for our children. The teachers are very engaged with the kids and definitely challenge them and love them. 2 of our children have already graduated Calvary and were very well prepared. We feel fortunate to have found Calvary for our kids.

Calvary is an amazing place and I'm puzzled as to how anyone would say otherwise. My child not only graduated with strong values and excellent work ethic, they attended a top notch private school and is now at an IVY LEAGUE college. The best thing about my child's education, honestly, is that they continue to cherish their experience there and even stay connected to teachers who made an indelible impact. Thank you Calvary!

I was a student at this school and know from personal experience that the incompetence and ignorance of the faculty has led to not only awful but embarrassing matriculation, incredibly flawed student moral values and work ethics after graduation, etc for the large sum of money that is thoughtlessly thrown at this school on a yearly basis. Do not send your kids here. Your children and your pockets will be much better off if your children attend public school. Other better options would include schools like St.Matthews and Carlthorp.
Calvary is a nice school, however the turnover rate is upsetting. Everybody knows that teachers come and go, but at Calvary it's incredible how often they need to replace faculty. It's hard for the kids to constantly adapt to new teachers, principal, vice principal, preschool director, preschool director assistant...etc.

My Calvary experience was great! The academics were challenging and I learned so much. The teachers know their students very well and interact with them on a personal level. The Christian aspects helped me a lot in my faith and encouraged me. I feel like I truly got everything that I could out of my middle school experience. I love Calvary Christian and you will too!
I love Calvary. My child is in middle school and the teachers are caring and creative. My child is learning and thriving. I think the Headmaster is fabulous and knows each child by name. I have older children and made the decision to move my youngest to Calvary for all the school offers.

We've been at CCS for over 8 years and each year the school, the administrators and the teachers get better and better. My 3 kids could not be more different in their learning styles and CCS has loved, nurtured and challenged them while still helping to foster their independence and sense of self. We love this school and could not imagine a more loving, safe and wonderful place for our children to gain the knowledge and Christian values that will help make them into smart, loving and caring adults.

this school has horrible principal participation and the principal will judge way before she knows the facts the teachers in the elementary dont take the time to help the students but the middle teachers are excellent and easy to deal with there are way better schools out there that will take the time and effort to help your children dont waste your money here

We have been at Calvary for a number of years. The teachers are fine but the problem is the Dean of the school. She will say or do anything to keep her job. I also feel that the school "throws the grades" to keep the parents happy. So, the ERB scores never correlate to the child's grades. In conclusion, I have found it very difficult to educate my children in Los Angeles. Many people at this school have been asking for a number of years to replace the Dean. I wish the people in charge would listen.

Great school. I've been here for a few years and each year the quality increases. From academics to specialist classes, especially the computer class, are well rounded while maintaining a fun and christian environment.

We came here because we were looking for two things: christian values and high academics. The academics are o.k., stronger in the middle school than in elementary. The teachers in the lower grades are quite nurturing. The main problems seems to come from the head of school who doesn't model Christian values. She is uncaring of the children and can actually be quite mean to them unless, of course, their parents have given a lot of money to the school in which case they are treated like little kings and queens.

Academics were poor. Not at all good at sport, art. No real extra curricular activities. No interaction with teachers and a dismissive principal. This school is awful.

It is amazing to see each child turn into a king and high achieving human being.
