I actually switched from Carter- to Lincoln and was SOOOOOO happy I did-- I could careless about the API scores -- take the time and meet the Teachers and the Staff and you will understand every single one cares about YOUR kid. My kids scores went up after coming here and Teachers that understood she was just Bored at Carter and needed a more challenging environment. So happy I wish more Schools cared as much as this one does. Thank you Lincoln School Staff.

The teachers really care and go the distance to make sure every child in their class gets as much personal attention as needed.

This school has come a long way... when my son entered kindergarten, in 2002, the reputation was pretty low and this was not considered a good school. Since then, with the help of the then new principal, Ms Esmeralda, it has become one of the best of the area: it is now a distinguished school since 2006 and has received other awards as well, such as the 'green school environmental award' and my son was part,in 2006, of a class of 3rd graders who traveled to the White House to receive form the President of the United States the EPA award, the youngest kids ever since its creation. The teachers are dedicated and knowledgeable, which is not everywhere, since California ranks number 47 out of 50 states for most educated states. The new principal, Mrs Gardner, is continuing the tradition.Excellent !

Hello!!! I thought this was about Lincoln ele. Someone metioned Carter, please get the schools straight. Washington, Carter are the best ele. schools in the desert, except private ex.(Marywood) Lincoln does not measure up for the APIs. If you are moving here get on the wating list for Washington Charter or plan to go to Palm Desert Middle or Palm Desert High. Although Desert Sands Unified Schools are all pretty good. Good Luck!

At first this school is simply standard, but if you take the time meet the principal and staff you find much more. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of teachers and the sincere interest Mrs. Esmeralda (principal) showed for the school. They have a great competetive math and science teams. The only drawback is the mandatory school uniform and current construction.

Carter has consistently scored over 800 on the state test for the last four years. Great staff and administration, excellent librarian!
