My son is a student at Buena Vista for three yrs now and I love the school I'm not involved with the school cuz I work a lot but I am involved with my childrens education Parents are kids first teachers and school their second so if there is an issue with ur Childs school then GET Active. I wish Palmdale School District did offer some sort of after school program Overall I am Happy with my Childs education
i love thisschool my kids love this school. the teahers and pricipal have a good attitudes all i am saying that if you have a good attitude with the teachers or staff or principal they will have a good attitube with you soo stop with the negative comments already this is a great school better than your children will ever have.
Parents with kids that have special needs beware !!! This is not the school !!!!
I feel very intimidated by the staff. They have been very rude to me and my children. I have observed the staff treating parents and students very poorly. It is hard to approach the staff with questions or concerns because they treat you as if they do not have the time to deal with you. My child's teacher is absent quite often. I'm afraid to change my kids to another school because the other school's ratings/test scores are worse than Buena Vista's. No sports, no P.E. clothes, maybe one book reading club.
There are no tutoring or after school programs available. Not enough student support. My experience in dealing with the front office has been negative. I believe there is a lack of parental and student support.
Staff, teachers and principal have poor attitudes. The front office lacks people skills as well. Parents are treated badly.
Last year I pulled one of my children out of Buena Vista. The school cannot support children above 3rd grade who may need assistance with improving reading skills unless they are ESL students. The principal explain to me this resulted from budget cuts. I could no longer afford Sylvan Learning center after spending over $3500 the previous year. I am currently home schooling my child through opportunities of learning. My second child is a strong student however, he is a pre-teen now and sometimes is caught up in peer/social pressures. The teacher spends more time talking about her life instead of focusing on implementing the ills of peer/social pressure into her curriculum. My son can tell me everything that going on in his teacher personal life. or , as a result
I love Buena Vista. I as a parent feel comfortable leaving my children in the care of the staff. The Principal {and his Secretary!} are wonderful, they meet you head on and show care and concern should a problem arise. I make it a point to be very involved in my children's school, I work close with their teachers and I feel that makes a world of a difference in your child's education.
I think that Buena Vista is a great school. My son loves going and enjoys his teacher and class. The school is just great and so is the staff.
