It is no exaggeration to say that this school saved my son's life. We tried EVERYTHING for 6 years of public school. My son just got more aggressive, more depressed and more isolated. After one school year at EBC, he is a completely different kid. And we are completely different parents. I cannot say enough good things about EBC. The director is brilliant, accessible and devoted. He was the first person I talked to who really really understood my son. The assistant head of school is equally amazing. She is incredibly responsive, responding to emails well outside of school hours and immediately making changes when something is not working. The staff are well trained and, for the most part, extremely high quality. EBC is not all sunshine and unicorns, of course. I wish there were more opportunities for social interaction outside of school. The turn-over is off the charts. It would be nice if the school day was just a wee bit longer. But how can you really complain about a place that has given your child a second chance?

Saved our child! For seven years, I watched helplessly as my child was drowning in the public school system. After 8 months of placement at EBC, he is a completely different person. The therapists and teachers finally understand him and he really enjoys school, for the first time in his life. They are so supportive and caring, for my child and our family. We have always felt so alone, but now realize that there is a community who understands. Most importantly, my child finally feels like he fits in and there are other kids with his same challenges. We couldn't be happier.

Excellent support structure for kids who are struggling socially or behaviorally -- open line of communication between parents and teachers, daily reports on kid's behavior from teachers, individualized plans for the kids. Goal is to teach the kid the self-knowledge and coping skills needed to return to a mainstream school.
