Although the school started of on shakey ground with poor leadership, it has made tremendous changes making it now one of the best kept secrets in the Palo Alto area. My child is thriving and my own mother is impressed with what she has learned and what she is now capable. The new vice principal is a big reason for the improvements and one reason to take a serious look at this school. Beware of old reviews, the school has come a long way since 2010..

this is a horrible school, i have to pull out my child due to the instability of the faculty and administration, within few months, they already changed few sets of faculty and administration, they only hired the low quality faculty for the Chinese program, they started out with 17 families, but half of them already pulled out.

In addition to the excellent Chinese and English Language programs, Wellspring recently adopted educational philosophy and Math program from the "Classic Math School". So, it looks very promising now. This school is new and rapidly evolving into premier bilingual elementary school in Bay Area with outstanding faculty and students. The recent "end of first semester test results" indicate that ALL students made at least one grade level progress in less than 4 months. I teach Math in this school, so my opinion is a little bit one sided. To get get objective picture you better schedule "Observed Play Date" trough school office and contact current students parents.

The school board decided in October to bring in a new administrative team. This new team strengthened the school's management. Last year and this year by the end of January, the children have progressed about one full grade level in mathematics and English language arts because the school always has had outstanding teachers who have and continue to produce stellar progress in the academic and social development of students.

Wellspring has ultimately delivered where it counts i.e. the students have achieved tremendous academic progress and and are building outstanding social skils. I attribute the school's success to an a faculty of outstanding teachers. What the school has been challenged by is getting the administration right. There has been turnover resulting from this and it has also has led to parent angst. However, last semester, one of the board members stepped into the position as Head of School ( who also built one of the top private elementary/middle schools in Silicon Valley) and a Vice Principal was hired from another top private school. This team has has solved the problems that previously plagued the school due to weak administration If you want a bilingual English/Chinese school with the best academics and a strong emphasis on leadership and social skills, this is the place for your child.

One of the aspects which makes the school really stand out is the parent community. The parents come from electic and diverse backgrounds and are truly committed to their child's global education. They are a highly educated, dynamic, and friendly group. This reflects itself in the student community. Wellspring admissions process has resulted in a bright, friendly, and energetic group students. If you think having great peers for your child and an interesting school community are important, Wellspring is a school you should consider.

Don't believe what the principal tells you! They sold me on how wonderful their Chinese teacher was and how they lured her away from Yew Chung. Then, shortly after I put in my $5000 deposit, I find out that the teacher is leaving. The school did not notify me of this, I found out from other people. When I called the principal to find out what is going on, she avoided my calls and gave me the run around. Since this is their only Chinese teacher and now she is gone after only one year, I wonder how much I can trust this school to deliver on what they promise.
