The culture at Briones is one of caring, competence, and collaboration. Children are nurtured and encouraged to take risks. There is truly a passion for learning in the air.
It's diverse population and supportive sense of community between staff, student, and parents make it a very special place to teach!!
We have been parents at Juana Briones since 2006 and another to start this fall. The atmosphere, parents and teachers are dedicated to the children they teach and help at home. We love the supportive and friendly school culture and really feel our children thrive and learn so much - beyond the great academics. The cultural and social diversity at this school really makes Juana Briones a very special school. They have an updated Web Site Address: http://www.briones.pausd.org/
We moved here a year ago and my 2 sons started Juana Briones in Fall 2008. They have loved every day of it and had no problems adjusting. It's a great small school with friendly staff, teachers, and very involved PTA.
My daughter started attending this school this year in First Grade and we have had such a wonderful experience with the principal, her teacher and the parents. From the atmosphere, the activities, and the curriculum, we are so happy and proud to have our daughter attend this school!
We have been involved with Juana Briones for twelve years, with all three of our boys. We simply would not want to be anywhere else. The school is demographically rich, virtually all teachers are wonderful, and the support services gracious and easy to work with. The emphasis is always on the child's. each child's, growth and success, not cookie-cutter results. Parents are often very active, and their activity has been welcomed by all. This is an unusual school and you would be fortunate to have your children there.
It's our fifth year at Briones; we have two children there. Every teacher we've had has been outstanding. Two of our Kindergarten teachers have worked together at Briones for twenty years, and two of our First Grade teachers for over ten. They can teach any kind of student, from high achieving kids to those with special needs. The principal is great; He understands that teachers and students do their best in a supportive environment. There is a strong 'no-bullies' policy, and recess and lunch time activities are structured to ensure all kids can participate.
Juana Briones has been a wonderful school for both of my children. The school has many of the best teachers in the district. They focus on the individual child and they are very nurturing. There is a strong parent community that supports the principal and teachers. The teachers have been supportive of me and my daughter, even after she moved on to middle school and we had some questions about whether or not the public school was the best placement for her. My son will be graduating this year, and I will miss all the wonderful Briones community.
This school has very small class sizes which is excellent for learning.
Incredible Principal, teachers and staff. Great families.
