Overly priced for the pathetic education structure. I transferred to a public school in La Canada after attending St. Phillips and went from being an A student to a D student. This is because the curriculum at St Phillips is more geared towards religion rather than math, history, science, literature, and other basic fundamentals. If you want your child to become a priest or nun, this school is a great option. If you want your child to excel in school and go on to be a doctor, lawyer, or waitress- your money would be better spent at PTA fundraisers for the Pasadena public schools.
This school showed me one thing, and this one thing only: the world is a cruel place, and sometimes cruelty is disguised in the form of a catholic k-8 school. Don't come here, and spare your child years of misery.
if i could go and change one thing about my childhood, it would be this school.
It's students enjoy learning, the parents are very much involved in school activities, teachers there love to teach, it has a diverse offering of extracurricular activities, day care is amazing. It really does personify the saying that 'it takes a village'. Parents and faculty work together to help our kids learn and grow. The school's Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops are GREAT.
Wonderful Catholic school. Faith based education with excellent academic standards. Teachers are caring and professional and the administration is very involved in all curricular and non curricular areas. A very well run school.
Two of our four children have graduated from St. Philip, with our third child starting first grade in the fall, and our fourth child on the way. We have been associated with this school for ten years now, and we have seen a lot of positive changes. The campus has been totally revamped with brand new buildings, the current principal is very good, the teachers are very supportive, the sports programs are great, the campus is very safe, and parental involvement is outstanding. Our oldest child graduated as a valedictorian and will be a sophmore at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in the fall where she has continued to do really well. Our second oldest child also did great and will be a freshman at St. Franics in the fall. Both of our two oldest children were well prepared for their next step to a private high. Best kept secret in Pasadena.
It is a great school. You get to do fun activites and a great techer.
St. philip is a great school, all three of our childeren love the faculty and administration. Our yongest daughter is graduating this year in the Class of 2008. We do not have enough words of accolade to describe her and our 16 year experience at this enriching and nurturing school. The families are frriendlyy, involved and of high moral standards.
Active and close community, great parent involvement, strong academic program, school pride is demonstrated all around campus
