When you need a School like this in Greater LA, they are hard to find. LAUSD is sadly ill-equipped. So not only is Frostig close to unique, its priceless. We know only the Grade 5 School Teacher, and the Educational Therapist and Speech Counsellor. Each is superb. Our Son is thriving, and happy. They use the Mainstream curriculum, adjusted, and set at the Child's real level for each subject, regardless of age. These people don't just teach. They think about and study how to teach.

Our son has shown such improvement and JOY since attending Frostig. The staff honestly care and work so completely with each child, they are DOING the job...what they say is what they DO. We feel that without the staff at Frostig our son would have been lost and deeply affected by 'main stream school'...given the tools, help, and patience he recieves daily, he SHINES and is happy and well prepared. This is a good place with amazing people. We are grateful.

As a parent I only have positive things to say about Frostig. Since our child began attending the school two years ago we have seen improvement. We are greatful that our child is at a school, supported by staff, that believes in his abilities and looks at him as the child that can instead of the child that can't. We feel blessed to be able to have our child attend the school!

I am so happy to have found such a warm and caring environment. Staff are friendly and truly enjoy their jobs. The administration is helpful and supportive of their teachers. Students are excited to learn and parents are truly appreciative of the school. The school consistently provides professional development opportunities for its teachers in many areas including behavior management and instructional strategies. Classrooms are well equipped with technology. If I had a student with learning disabilities I would surely send them to Frostig School.

I am so happy we found Frostig. We chose Frostig because it has the best reputation in the field of educating children with LD. My child entered Frostig 5 years ago with low self esteem after being bullied and harassed at previous schools. Our son has since blossomed at Frostig and is confident, happy and strives to make his teaches proud! The staff work as a team to implement strategies to help their students succeed and reach their full potential. Our son constantly thanks us for finding Frostig for him!

My daughter has attended Frostig for the past two years and I've noticed significant gains academically and socially. Friends and family have noticed a very positive change in her self esteem and noted that my daughter is more outgoing, friendly and talkative since she's been at Frostig. She has flourished under the positive, supportive group of teachers and staff in middle school. They look for their strengths and this positive focus makes the children want to learn and to be challenged.

I had a child who spent 5 years at Frostig both in the elementary and middle school. I would say that in the beginning the teaching was uneven but over the years things improved significantly. When we left, I believe they had an energetic, strong, cohesive group of young teachers. My experience with the administration was always positive. They were supportive, helpful and creative when it came to tweaking my child s program so that he could get the most out of a Frostig education. I think parents need to be realistic when they look at the program. Frostig cannot cure the learning issues. What they can offer is a great program that is tailor-made to help the child maximize his or her potential.

Frostig is a lot of flash and no substance. There is no consistent discipline plan, bullying and sexual harrassment is not dealt with. Administration is more concerned with fund raising than school environment. With no plan for dealing with behavior issues, problems can escalate. Staff is uneven-some very good teachers, others are petty and overly dependent on worksheets, etc. My child was made to take the same history class 2 years in a row, same old worksheets and boredom. Principal is often not on campus, off attending conferences. Bias against public pay kids.

My child attended this school for three years. I would not recommend this school. The academic program is quite limited due to teachers lack of ability to teach without dittos. Parent involvement is highly sought after for funds. Very poor employee moral which overflows to students.
