We have three children who went to Springhill Montessori, and they all turned out to be very skilled in relationships, and curious self-starting learners. They were all three different personalities. One has Downs Syndrome, and the Montessori environment set him up with such a good foundation that we were able to get him through public Middle School and High School in Petaluma! He still has a special connection with the teachers when he talks about it, or sees them. I cannot say enough about the joy our children came away with from their years there. Our youngest started with Preschool, then Kindergarten, then went on through "Lower Elementary" (Grades 1-3) and "Upper Elementary" (Grades 4-6). She went on to Graduate High School With a 4.3 GPA, and is now a junior in college A student with a pre-med major. One of the trademarks of a Montessori student is their ability to manage conflict in relationships. They are taught how to manage their own, and for others, with specific techniques and perspectives. This highlights that the lumping of grades 1-3 and 4-6 encourages students to mentor each other and share what they have learned with pride and joy with other students. GO4IT

My daughter attended the toddler and preschool for two years: she loved it and they had an amazing impact on her. She is obviously more advanced in language and critical thinking compared to similar aged children. Her ballet and gymnastics teachers (not affiliated with the school) constantly comment on how advanced she is. Every day she was excited to go to school, and always talked about her teachers. I would highly recommend this to any parent, at least for the toddler/preschool. I am sure the rest is great too, we just had to relocate so she never attended those classes.

Our son has been at the school for 3 years and it has been amazing to watch him grow and expend his mind. The school truly becomes a family and everyone cares for the children. Academically, the school has a stronger curriculum thanmost public schools and the children's reading and math skills are usually advanced. As montessori school, classes are mixed in age. While a child might technically be in 2nd grade, his class will have children from 1st, 2nd and 3rd. One reviewer commented his child was one year behind, but in fact, should the child have followed a complete course (so left after 3rd or 6th grade) he would have been at level. Spring Hill has been nothing but positive for our child. In areas where he is more proficient, teachers constantly challenge him . In areas where he needs more help, he gets tons of support.

Atmosphere is great, but academics are terrible. I had my child here and when we transferred to another school, my child was a whole year behind academically. I was so saddened. I really want a refund of the outrageous tuition that I paid to this school. Anyone checking it out, please take a real look at the academics before enrolling.

Superior education truly encompassing the 'whole' child, fantastic 'life skills' incorporated into daily curriculum, rigorous academics as tailored to each individual child, unique pastoral setting including 'works' with farm animals, staffed by loving intellectuals

This will be our daughter's second year at Spring Hill and she can't wait for school to start. She has absolutely thrived in every way in this loving and nuturing environment. As an active parent with the school, I too I'm thriving in this environment. I have made some of the best friends I have ever had in my life. The staff, the teachers and the director of the school are outstanding. I feel like no question is off limits and that they actually care about and listen to suggestions that parents have.

Extraordinary school with gifted teachers, administration & enrichment/support. We are thrilled with the education our children are getting there and consider it to be the premiere education in the North Bay ~ rigorous intellectual pursuits, incredible practical life skill development, a lovely campus out in the country. We would highly, highly recommend the school. Kids reciting Shakespeare, Aristophanes, quoting Langston Hughes, able to work at their own pace and be individuals & truly loved & nurtured by the entire school community. What more do you need than a simple yet beautiful setting, talented & dedicated teacher/intellectuals & the creativity of the children. Dig deep before you place your children elsewhere. Montessori is beloved by children around the world.
