At this school i have the best teachers we have time to get help im class os 2014 and freshmen year many kids and honor students slacked off.it makes me disappointed because i like the competiton.I was very involved in the school last year .hope this helps we have many great clubs and have a CIF champion soccer team.
My child came to this school well prepared from middle school; once he got to El Rancho everything went down in the first semester. It got so bad that from honor classes went straight to regular classes in the first year. I do think student do not get the motivation enough to keep on. As a parent I've tried everything I can. I think the problem is most of the public schools, to many student, they just become invisible to teacher that do not want to work hard rather they focus on those student that are easy to be taught, because they don t have time?...
I think the principal and the teachers are great at El Rancho. I really learned alot in my four years there. It has a great environment and learning atmosphere.
El Rancho High is a great school if your child takes advantage of it's offering. Alumin do go on to great universities, i.e. Harvard, Berkeley, UCLA, Standford to name a few. However, few achive this. Parents are teachers are to blame for poor college preparation. Those in AP/Honors classes get amazing aid, those in 'regular ' classes get un-noticed. Bottom line: Parents have to demand more from the educators. And parents need to stop blameing the system if there not ready to aid. El Rancho as a whole is ok/good.
El Rancho High School is an excellent school. The music, arts, and sports programs are outstanding. Parent involvement is lacking but a new principal is making an effort to improve that by offering a variety of parent workshops. The AP/Honors program is one of the best in the area. Students from El Rancho are admitted at some of the top universities across the country.
My son graduated from El Rancho June '07.For those 4 yrs I can say he and his fellow students had great babysitters. No opportunities/classes geared towards the average student.
I would also like to add, that El Rancho did a poor job in preparation for college. It's pretty sad when a continuation school, Ruben Salazar right across the street, does a way better job preparing students for college.
El Rancho HS is one of the better High Schools in the area. The teacher truly do care about each and every student that attends the school. They have excellent extra-curricular programs, such as the award-winning and now nationally recognize Marching Don band, also an excellent chorus department. Just an all-around great school.
My kids go to El Rancho and love it there!
I think El Rancho is a very good school. My child was receiving D's and F's at LA Unified (mainly because of overcrowding and the teachers have too many students to teach in 45 minutes). I like the way the classes are set up. The counselors and teachers are doing a great job. My son now is receiving A's, B's and C's. I am very happy that my sons and daughters are attending El Rancho High.
