Nelson Elementary School

I love Nelson. My 4th grader has been at Nelson since kindergarden and we LOVE it. My child has excelled there since day one. I would reccomend this school to everyone as the teachers truly believe in a child being pushed to learn and no child is left behind.

This is the most wonderful school! Our children are thriving there. It is diverse and the education is excellent. Our kids are reading two grades ahead of themselves. The school is also up for a national award for it's excellence. We'll find out this Fall if we won. It has also been named a California Distinguished School several times.

Both of my children attend Nelson. I am so impressed by all of the teaching staff. They strive to have your child excel in all aspects of their education. The teachers here take the time to help your child on an individual level. My daughter was struggleing and her teacher encouraged her and pushed her along that she was able to recieve her reading medallion for both semesters in first grade! She is currently reading at and above second grade level with an 83% comprehension rate! The music and art programs are great! Clovis Unified has a school wide art exhibit. They exhibit all the children's art work from all diffent elementary schools in our home district. I must say I was impressed by how many were from Nelson! The parent involvement at Nelson is great! I was a first time parent involved with the school and it was a wonderful expierience.
