I liked ti better when Mrs, Petersen was the principle The new principle is not too good, She is phony and does not care about the students that much. When you try and talk to her for a minute she will give you the run down of how she is too busy to even care and find out what the talk was about. I tried to talk to her about the bullying in school but we didn't even get that far. Sad. Good scores and my daughter is a above grade level student and they won't do anything to make sure she gets the most out of the education there. When Mrs. Petersen was the principle, she was able to learn with the class higher in reading because that was the appropriate level for her. Thinking of changing schools after this year is over.
We have two children in the school for the past three years and are very happy with the commitment to excellence.
Hoorrayyyy! We are officially a distinguished school! Our site validation visit took place in March and just last week, Mrs. Petersen got a call officially congratulating us on becoming a Distinguished School. Congratulations to all the students for their hard work! Parents, we couldn't do it without your support as well! FYI, the last post must be about a different school. We are only K-5.
Great school and teachers, 830 API Fall 2009
Delta View is doing such a wonderful job, not only to my kids, but to all its Delta View stars. My son is in 4th grade and my daughter is in 2nd grade. Both of them have been attending the school since kindergarten. Mrs. Petersen is a great principal who cares about her students and assures parents like me that our kids are always in safe hands. She knows her students by name and always looks into each kid's potential to grow. Every since my first kid started attending this school, I have belief that this school has a big potential, considering at that time that it is a brand new school on a brand new community. I was so impressed about their high ratings and how far they've gone with their STAR testing results, a whopping 82 point gain from last year. Truly, the teachers and staff should be commended!
My two children have attended this school for the past three years. I cannot say enough positive things about the teachers, the principal, and the learning environment. Both my son and my daughter have been excited about going to school from day one. The principal is fantastic and seems to know each child by name. The teachers make home visits and have gone the extra mile to provide an excellent education. I couldn't be happier.
My daughter is going into 4th grad and started here in the 2nd grade. She loves this school, and so do I! The academics are great, the teachers actually care and are involved with the children, and the principal handles problems appropriately. I love their zero tolerance bully policy at the school, it makes the kids feel safe, and I know my daughter doesn't have to worry about being picked on. They have also made changes on campus to increase safety.
Mrs. Petersen is one of the best principals I have worked for. She is caring, kind, and very knowledable. She is supportive to teachers, students, and parents. She has put in place so many wonderful program. The discipline situation is taken very seriously, Mrs. Petersen is a problem solver, who is always respectful to the students.
The Principal is really nice. But unfortunately the teacher to whom my kid goes to does not tries to bring out the best and is not encouraging at all. I am worried my really smart kid will get demotivated. We are very disappointed.
I have two students that attend Delta View. The staff at this school is dedicated to providing our kids with the learning tools to make them successful. Each teacher that my students have had has made great efforts to communicate with our family both positve and negative siutations. They even came to our home to learn about our family! It was truly an honor to have them take their free time and build a relationship with our family. My kids love going to school and attending the extra curricular activities that this school provides. One thing I would like to improve is the parent involvement with our kids' education. So many people have complaints but you won't find them activiely participating in their and our childrens education.
