I'm a high school student that graduated from Gold Trail in 2005... I loved that school. I still do. I still go back every year for the halloween festival at the school to say hi to my favorite teachers and to see old pals. Ohh, The teachers are incredible. They were friendly and always willing to help with whatever problem you came to them with - inside or outside of class. They really work to create a connection with their students, which made it that much more easier to ask for help. I was very shy those years, and if I had gone to a different school I'm sure I wouldn't have learned as much as I could have. Gold Trail is a great environment and it definitely prepared me for high school. I'm doing very well in HS right now, by the way, at Ponderosa High School. A steady 3.5 at least at all times. GT is an amazing school, very helpful and very kind. If I could go back in time and choose the school over again (since actually I only went 6th grade through 8th, avoiding the larger jr highs) I would choose it everytime.

My kids went to this school. We moved out of the area do to the school issues. 1) Numerous times teachers would not not be available during the complete year. My son had different teachers for the same class 3 out of 4 years. One teacher choose to walk out of the class room to help fight political battles against Arnold. The students do not come first personal teacher gain does. 2) They teach to the state test and do not prepare students for the future. Ex. After we left the school, and our kids were all Star students, they have struggled severly outside the state of California. Our kids can answer multiple choice and short answers but Essay answer were never covered. This has caused our students to fail classes outside Gold Trail since the school teaches to test and does not develop the student for the future.

Gold Trail is a small school where every child counts and is supported. Bullying and profanity are not permitted and training has been provided to educate both staff and students on these and other issues. Parents and students love the principal who is a wonderfully warm and gentle person. For a small school, GT provides a rich program, with offerings in Spanish, algebra, art, drama, band, and sports. My daughter attended GT from second grade and her younger brother from first grade through the eighth grade. Both are grown and are doing very well in the business world. My daugther is currently working toward her masters in nursing. I highly recommend this school for a safe, nurturing, and fundamentally sound education.
