In the beginning, I was completely against going to Pomona Catholic. My reasons for this was because none of my friends were going there, I was dreading the idea of going to an all girls school, and because I wanted to try out public school since I have been in private school my whole life. As an incoming junior at PC, I am so thankful that I stayed at this school. After being at PC my freshman and sophomore year, the school grew on me. I learned that going to an all girls school isn t as bad as everyone says it is. If anything is an amazing thing! Going to an all girls school there are no distractions, you feel more free, and most importantly you don t have to put on makeup everyday! I ll admit it did suck that none of my friends went with me to PC, but that wasn t a problem after my first day there as a student. Everyone is so welcoming there and you feel it as soon as you walk into the doors of the building. Attending a school as small as PC gave me that one on one attention from teachers that you don t get if you went to a bigger school. All these reasons are why I'm still a student at PC and why I will forever stay as a proud Pacer!

I am an incoming junior at Pomona Catholic and choosing PC was one of the greatest decision I have made. In March I had undergone brain surgery and I could not have asked for a better and understand teaching and faculty staff. I missed close to two months of school. The teachers made sure that I prioritized healing myself but they also made sure that I didn't get behind in my school work. Along with my regular school work they worked with me to get caught up on the work I had missed. I couldn't be more great full for my teachers for allowing me to further my education in such tough situations.

Pomona Catholic has been such a positive experience for my daughter since the first day she attended a Shadow Day when she was a 7th grader at Our Lady of the Assumption in Claremont. She is becoming a smarter, independent, and well rounded Catholic young women. She always tells me how much she loves attending school at PC. We feel very blessed.

Pomona Catholic has been a wonderful experience for my daughter and I. Private school surpasses public education and studies have shown that girls excel when it comes to same sex environment. PC will allow your daughter to grow academically and spiritually. At PC your daughter will have less distractions allowing her to focus on her studies, build on her self-esteem, become involved in her community and strive for the best. Staff has been wonderful and caring. Great memories have been made here!!!

I will be a senior at pc and I love this school with all my heart and can't imagine being anywhere else. The staff really works with you and there are so many opportunities for girls to try sports, musical, ambassadors, yearbook, the list continues. I have played on The volleyball team since freshman year, and I am in choir, ambassadors, and campus ministry, as well as doing musical, in every activity I have met incredible girls and formed the greatest bonds with them. In looking at colleges of am discovering that I exceed the requirements and meet the recommendations because of the curriculum at pc, which makes me relieved and confident in my choice of attending pc. I love the all girls environment and it has truly helped me to become confident and secure in who I am, which I know wouldn't have at a coed school since I was very shy. Pc getsyou prepared for college, yes, but also for life and forms their girls into strong women. I didn't care where I went to high school,my parents decided to send me. You can feel the holy spirit covering the school and blessing it. I cried after my freshman interview because I felt this care and security that over whelmed me.

I have been a parent at Pomona Catholic High School for two years. My daughter will be a junior this coming school year and I could not be happier with the choice we made to send her here. Pomona Catholic has been a positive influence in our daughter academically, athletically, and personally. My daughter has a whole new outlook on school and its importance to be the best she can be to succeed in college and life. She has joined clubs, played new sports, improved greatly in grades, has made great new friends and has learned to become a responsible young lady with the goal of going to college. The principle, Mr. Torres, is great as well as all the teachers and staff. We have no regrets on sending our daughter to this amazing school.

I was completely afraid to start school at Pomona Catholic. I had gone to public school my entire life and knew one other girl going to PC. I went to the summer volleyball league tryouts because I had been playing volleyball in middle school and on a club team. I was nervous to see many of the girls knew each other, but once I let go of my nerves and started conversations I was welcomed and accepted. That's the reason I fell in love with PC in the first place. When I went for a tour, the familial energy and the welcoming faces pulled me toward Pomona Catholic rather than the other schools I had looked into. Everyone has a place at PC and I couldn't be happier that I've found mine here. I have been at PC for four years now, and those are four years I will never forget. Go Pacers!

I don't think I have ever loved a school as much as I love Pomona Catholic. This school has given me the opportunity to meet my closest friends and make the best memories. The friends that you make at Pomona Catholic is incredible. Entering Pomona Catholic as a freshman I knew one person and I had no classes with her but I didn't worry about it because PC is such a welcoming school I knew I would make friends and I did. Not only did I make friends I made the strongest friendships I have ever had. Pomona Catholic is also academically amazing. We are blessed with amazing teachers who really push us to excel and strive for excellence. Since Pomona Catholic is small we really have good bond with our teachers and it makes you feel like you are learning more since it is more one on one. Teachers are always available before, during, after school, and also during break and lunch. I was blessed to enter Pomona Catholic and I can't imagine myself at another school because Pomona Catholic is my second home.

Before attending Pomona Catholic I was a public school student my entire life, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great, I just believed school was something I had to do even if I didn't want to. Once my parents told me I would be attending Pomona Catholic I went to some middle school visits and shadow days and you could say it was love at first sight. The teachers and students cracking jokes at each other ,in good fun all while maintaining a steady focus on the lesson at hand. There was a bond between the whole student body and it was wonderful. I couldn't believe the difference from my past education. I arrived at Pomona Catholic as a scared freshman and immediately felt right at home. Thanks to the students and faculty of Pomona Catholic especially our principal Mr. T I couldn't even dream of a more amazing place to be a student . I am so grateful of everything PC has done for me.

I am currently going to be a junior at PC and could not be any happier. I honestly made the best choice in choosing PC. I have made great memories and lifelong friends throughout my years at PC and it is such a great bonding experience with all the girls there. I am a very big athlete and am involved in cross country, water polo, and track and PC has really met my standards in the athletic department it shows great leadership and teamwork and it is the best bonding experience i have ever encountered and I am very proud to be called a pacer.

I have only been at Pomona Catholic for one semester and it was the best change I have ever made. I enjoyed making new friends and meeting new teachers and they all made me feel so welcomed. I love the Catholic environment and everywhere I go, I feel extremely close to God. This coming year, I will be a sophomore. I can't wait to experience life as a student at Pomona Catholic in the next three years. I am so happy that my family chooses to send me there and I am so thankful for all of the wonderful friends I have made and the great teachers at Pomona Catholic.

There is so much to say about PC which can be hard to say in a few words. But one thing can be made sure of, that is I can personally call it home. I was a student who came to PC with only one friend, but by the end of my freshman year gained 60 new faces which I could call friends. This school has allowed me to flourish into a better young woman, and form ideas about the world and society around me in a way in which a mature individual of society would. PC has a place near and dear to my heart, it has brought me to be the involved individual I am today.

As a current student, I have nothing but love and respect for Pomona Catholic. Even though I was initially wary because none of my friends were attending, PC quickly proved to me just how fun and nurturing it can be. I felt welcome and at home since day one and truly believe that my choice to become a Pacer was one of the best I have ever made. Pomona Catholic incorporates its mission of education and Catholic morals into all aspects of the school, just one of many reasons why I love the school. I truly believe that PC is the best fit for any young woman with a desire to try new things and succeed in an environment that is equal parts challenging and encouraging. -Caitlin K.

From the moment I walked into PC as a middle school visitor, I immediately knew it was the place I wanted to spend my high school years. I really loved how welcoming PC was and I was really drawn to the small, nurturing environment it had to offer. Coming to Pomona Catholic was the best choice I made because it has allowed me to become a more confident person and come out of my shell. I have made so many amazing friends and have learned to try new things, such as sports and leadership roles, here at PC. The sisterhood created between the students is so unique and I am blessed to have met such wonderful people at this school. I highly recommend PC to any young girl looking for an education centered on faith, friendship, and empowerment. PC is awesome! -Amanda E.

Pomona Catholic was the only choice for us! After attending a "High School Night" presentation for local private schools, I was so impressed by the Ambassadors for the school. They were very well spoken! We've been part of the Pacer family for 3 years now and I could not be happier or more satisfied! The staff is warm and caring. Principal Torres is truly vested in this school and it shows. Parent involvement is part of the wonderful foundation here. A strong, values based curriculum and many extracurriculur opportunities are truly empowering my daughter to move on to college and more!

As a member of the class of 2014, I have been through a lot at Pomona Catholic. Mr. Torres has always made good decisions about the kinds of teachers he wants us to have. I trust that the changes he makes are only to benefit PC and students there. I will be going to college this fall and will take with me all of the memories of working with Mrs. Arteaga all four years on my college plans. She was always available and even took me to college visits on the weekends when my parents couldn't attend. One of the admissions counselors at a college told me that Mrs. Arteaga was famous in their department because she knows all of her students. When I received my first college acceptance, it was Mrs. Arteaga who cried with me and hugged me. I hope to return to PC one day and give back to the school that prepared me to move on to college. Thank you Mr. Torres and Mrs. Arteaga <3

I am currently a junior at Pomona Catholic and my last two years at PC have been amazing. The bonds I've made with some of my new friends are like no other. The teachers I've had both my freshman and sophomore year have impacted me so much on what I want my future to be like. Pomona Catholic has made me a more strong and confident young women. I always had trouble finding my true self and having to boost my self confidence. A lot of people see me as a quiet and shy girl. But after attending PC I have changed in a positive way and I thank Pomona Catholic for that. I love the sisterhood bond I made and part of the reason I boosted up my ego. The girls here really help you find who you are. To attend to an all girls environment was not what I wanted at first, but I am blessed and that my parents sent me here.

I am a senior at Pomona Catholic and will be graduation this Spring 2015. PC is one of the biggest aspects that has made me who I am today with out it would still be shy and reserved. PC has though me to try new things and to do it with passion, confidence, and faith. I love how the school is a small family and you are able to get to know the teachers and students. One of the biggest things I would tell and aspiring student is to try new thing and get involved because those experiences and memories are the one I will never forget.

I am an alumna of Pomona Catholic and have had two younger sisters follow me through the great halls of PC. I recently visited for the 115th anniversary celebrations. I think the principal is doing great things. My family was active at PC in the 10 years my sisters and I were students and the feeling I got when I visited was wonderful! I had a great high school experience and to see all the great things going on at PC, like smart boards going up in all the classrooms was very heartwarming! The students seem happy and to see the long list of college acceptances is impressive. Pomona Catholic will always hold a special place in my heart! Keep up the good work Mr. Torres and PC staff!

Our principal just fired one of the best teachers we had. She was an amazing teacher who taught us about life as well as what was in the books we studied. She taught us what it really meant to be a young catholic woman and to have dignity and be true to ourselves. She talked to us about applying to colleges more than our counselor ever did. She will be missed, but know that some other school will get an amazing teacher that we no longer will have. The principal was wrong In firing her. Pomona catholic won't be the same without her. If you are looking for a challenging school don't go here. The teachers who challenge us quit or get fired.

I'm currently a student at Pomona Catholic and have loved every year I have attended here. Sadly, I will be graduating soon but I have made the best friends I could ever have here. Coming from a public school system, I was very apprehensive, but I'm so happy that I chose PC to attend and I'm grateful for the experiences I have had here. I was able to be on sports teams I would have never thought to try out for. The PC philosophy is to try something new and you won't be turned away. The coaches taught us and were always positive even if we didn't know how to play that sport. In the end I felt very good about learning a new sport and making new friends. Mr. Torres, the principal has recently hired new teachers that are very inspiring and want us to excel. We have a young Felician sister who teaches religion Spanish and dance since she was a dancer as well. It's fun to see her dance during our spirit rallies. The strong connection we have with Damien our brother school is also fun. We attend their football games and dances and can be part of their band. We also practice and use their facilities for some of our sports programs so we have a chance to bond with them too.

I look forward to 2013-14. My daughters and I have met with current students and alumni, parents, teachers and Administrators. I have done extensive research. All I can say is that we are 100% committed to this school. What a great opportunity for a small community environment with measured academic rigor. While some public schools can provide a valuable education, the prolific use of drugs, alcohol and daily fights are alarming. The public school dress code is sad while the social media issues are even more tragic. The goals of public school seem to be test scores and passing students to the next grade so they don't leave any child behind. The fact that this school provides a caring haven for my children with a Felician Sister on-site is comforting. The parent and staff involvement is a significant ingredient to the success of these young ladies. Some teachers are past PC Alumni whose own daughters are now students. This speaks volumes to me. For those concerned about the area, please know the PC family is made up of law enforcement and firefighters as well as caring parents who come to the campus throughout the day. The community and Pomona PD watch over our children.

Serving God by supporting and motivating students and families to be well-rounded human beings is my privilege every day. As an employee for Pomona Catholic School I participate in a variety of activities designed and moderated by a talented staff, faculty and administration. These dedicated people have families of their own but often work many hours beyond the contract, choosing to focus on learning goals/achievement and community inclusion. I am inviting you to check it out for yourself. It is a simple formula: respect, relationship, faith, trust.

For two years, we visited the other Catholic high schools in the area and chose Pomona Catholic. Mr. Torres, the principal, took time to personally meet with us. He asked if we knew why Catholic schools were startedin the first place. We said we did not and he told us that Catholic schools were not started for the purpose of having great sports programs or even better academic programs but started for the purpose of building the kingdom of God and that was his first priorty. Next, he said, he would build a great academic program and then everything else. He has remained true to his word. PC is a very special school that provides our daughter with everything she needs to succeed in life as well as college. The communication is terrific and the teachers and staff are very accessible. For anyone doubting the school's ability to prepare students for college, check the list of colleges our seniors get into. NOTE: all students are prepared for division 1 schools, all students are REQUIRED to take three years of a foreign language and four years of math, the students have the opportunity to get ahead by taking online classes, PC accepts students with some learning disabilities .

In the 2 years that Mr. Torres has been the Principal, the school has been re-energized and is being restored to its former glory. The school has always been known for its service component and is now being hailed as one of the best investments in education in the area. Mr. Torres has focused on providing a Christ-centered campus that supports learners and families. He is a spiritually grounded leader who is present at the functions, approachable and consistent in his vision for catholic education in the Pomona Valley. Recently, he invited Bishop Sartoris to re-dedicate the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in the school, in a beautiful ceremony that involved the community and students.

Pomona Catholic High School has been a great school for my daughter. Late last June I was laid off from my job and had to move urgently and also find a school for my daughter, an incoming Junior . I chose Pomona Catholic and have nothing but praise for the school. Mr. Torres and staff went out of their way to facilitate my daughter's transfer from her previous Catholic high school and make her feel welcome. This same welcome and doing everything feasible for her to experience academic challenge and an enriching all-round school experience has continued till now. The teachers have always been open to me as a parent to discuss my daughter's progress. They have been available after school and during breaks to give any extra help as needed. My daughter's GPA has improved at the school. Although my daughter still misses her school friends that she has known since Kindergarten, she has been welcomed by the students and accepted as she is. This has been very important for her. The school has given my daughter a truly enriching Catholic education experience, that as a parent makes me know I made the right choice for my daughter. Although it is a small school, it is a quality school.

We are proud parents of this school! We have had two daughters that have attended this school. We have seen a lot of changes in this school and we attribute it to our principal, Samuel Torres. He has come to our school when we needed him the most. At first our daughters were upset because he insisted on them abiding by the school dress code. There were a lot of moans and groans at first, now they think he's the greatest. He's always on campus and available for all the girls and their families. He implemented a free tutoring program available to the elementary and middles schools in the Pomona School District. Change is great! We are blessed!

This has been a phenomenal year for Pomona Catholic. Many changes were made, including the newest member of the administration, Mr. Torres; and the families could not be happier. I am looking forward to the rest of my daughter's years at Pomona Catholic because this year has given me much hope. There is no doubt in my mind that the school will continue to grow and succeed. For those who have negative feelings towards the school for whatever reasons, I suggest you visit Mr. Torres and I assure you, your outlook will definitely change for the better.

As an alumni, I am still in love with Pomona Catholic. It made me a strong, independent, and confident young woman. I am not afraid to face challaneges in college and continue the leadership skills learned there. However, Pomona Catholic did have its academic shortcommings. The science program was horrible, and we did not have all the facillities that a high school should have. I am very excited that the new prinicple is imposing new rules that show my alma mater as the gem that it truly is. I recomend this school because it offers a sisterhood like none other that I have ever experienced. This school also offers the chance for your daughter to grow and blossom. I guarntee that you and your daughter will know everyone there, and she will be more confident than when she walked in as a freshman.

Mr. Torres seems like a really good person who is willing to change the school for the better. i pray that Pomona Catholic continues its 100+ years of excellent education. i am so happy that mrs. gazzolo left, she was a horrible principle and did not do anything to benifit the school, she was definetly the the main problem we went down hile. i also pray that the population increases at PC, it is truely a great school.

I am a current student at pc and though the school is great because of its size, there are very few good teachers. I am a current student at PC and I do agree the school is unorganized sometimes but they are currently working on their problems and fixing them. There are many hard working teachers at this school. Most of the time we do get visits from past students who have taken A.P. and honor courses. They were prepared for college and said they were actually reviewing some of the things they learned in high school. I had a choice between two schools and I chose this school because I knew I would make lifelong friends here and get a great education.

In looking up other schools, I found this website. My husband and I are so frustrated with P.C. I was hoping the archdiocese would have seen how bad the school was and go in and taken out the top 5 people. But, they are still there. There are so many wonderful families at this school. It is sad the archdiocese takes their money to pay this principal and her administrators. They do not know how to run a school.

Some great teachers who care and go beyond what is asked of them. These reviews have helped make up my mind. My complaints have fallen on deaf ears. I don't believe the archdiocese even cares about Pomona Catholic.

I am a recent graduate of Pomona Catholic High School. Although I do have great affection for PC, in all honesty, the current curriculum is deeply disapointing. I left feeling underprepared in more than a few areas of my education. I believe the mild apathy of some administrators and faculty allow students to feel little to no pressure to even attempt to learn or to show up to class. However, I would not trade my PC experience for anything. The small community is inviting and the teachers are very approachable. In fact, there are a few teachers currently employed at Pomona Catholic who are the best I've ever had. I pray that PC will regain its wonderful reputation in the future.

I am very disappointed this past year. I used to feel proud of the school but this year it has all fallen apart. one of my good teachers left, we got stuck with a new teacher that does not teach, she is absent 85% of the time. the 15% that she is there we spend the class as a study or free period. Most teachers have lost intreast in their teachings. The root of the problem is our prinicipal whom is never at school or in her office. I think the archiosce needs to put a new pricipal who will take charge and make PC the place it used to be with presitge. The parents have tried to make an improvment but with out the help of our faculty that is very diffuclt.

As a current student, I completely agree that the root of the problem is the principal. I rarely see her in her office and I have not seen any improvements in the academics since my freshman year. Po2mona Catholic needs to regain its prestige and the first step is for the archdiocese to open their eyes and realize how much the students are suffering.
