Midland Elementary School

My son is in Kindergarten, and has had nothing less of an amazing experience at Midland. The school is phenomenal. His teacher, Mrs. Hafer, is sweet, caring, and expects a lot out of the children in her classroom, but in a positive way. My son is making lots of progress, and comes home full of new information everyday. The principal, Mrs. Lerner, is full of energy, and all of the children love her. I volunteer weekly in my sons class, and really love watching how much each child enjoys being at school. I wish I could have gone to Midland! We are looking forward to a long relationship with the school and staff.

My daughter was 4 when she entered Kindergarten. I had already taught her to read & I wanted her to be in a fun, creative but challangeing school. Midland is ALL THAT & more. Yes, expectations are high but these kids can do it! People under-estimate children & even though my daughter was 'ahead' for her age, she began to amaze me pretty quickly once school started with all she was learning & how quickly. Her teacher, Mrs. Schrag, is wonderful. I'm dreading moving next year away from here & am having a hard time finding a school that's up to par with Midland. Wonderful campus, safe, LOVING, understanding, FUN.

I am very pleased with this school. My daughter is in the fifth grade and loves going to school everyday! Her teachers are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere and general culture of the school is one of friendliness combined with a love of teaching and learning. There is true heart here.

We have a newly built school with all of the fantastic updates! Our Principle is viviacious and fun! We have some excellent teachers that truly care about the children.Midland does a fantastic with teaching the impotance of Character and Respect.And Midland is a beautiful & safe campass.

This is my daughter's first year at Midland and her 2nd grade teacher has been wonderful in contacting me with concerns. The Principal is also wonderful and very helpful. My son is in Kindergarten and doing very well also. They both love it there.

We love the new (January 2008) principal! She's energetic, enthusiastic, and has genuine interest in and affection for the kids. Sometimes, she can barely move around the campus because all the kids crowd around her for hugs or high fives. The teachers are dedicated and caring and the campus is new and beautiful. Our kids are doing great here!

Midland Elementary has far exceeded my expectations for my child. All her teachers so far are well-educated and caring professionals. The principal is very approachable. Then they are supplemented by the Extended School Services onsite, whose staff is really supportive of my child's education. They provide a nice environment to do homework too, as well as for playtime. It really takes a village to raise a child and I am grateful Midland is my 'village'.

The primary-level teachers here are wonderful and do more than just act as educators. They teach children how to conduct themselves as people too. The office people are very helpful, and friendly. Parent involvement is overall good, but could be better, if compared to other schools near the area.

If you are thinking about sending your child to this school come prepared they pride themselves on excellance which unfortunately means that average is not good enough. Thier standards are extremely high. Starting in kindergarden children are expected to read small books, write full sentences, and read or have read to them a word problem and write the math equation it takes to solve it. So much for school being fun.

Midland elementary is a great school. I taught there for seven years. We were awarded the Distinguished School Award various years. Parent involement was excellent.

Midland is a terrific school. As my son is now entering the 4th grade he has the opportunity to enroll in the Midland Academy which focuses on a higher level of learning geared toward getting the child ready for a college/university type setting. The only negative thing that I have to say about the school - and which I found in both the 2nd and 3rd classes that he has been in - is the lack of communication from the teachers. School are always stressing parent involvement and communication, but I have had instances where notes/phone calls to the teachers go unanswered. I find that, as a parent, this is extrememly frustrating. Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about the school.
