This school allows bullying to go on and even though numerous parents complain the school does nothing about the problem. The principal seems bothered when i address the issue with him. He says he will deal with it, yet the problem gets worse. Many parents have removed their children from this school, which is why it is the only elementary school in the district that has open space for more students.
The teachers are great. Their interaction with the kids and the parents is awesome. Dr Johnson is a huge asset.
All the teacher at Valley go beyond their job description to help, guide, teach and motivate all the students. The Principal is bilingual and alway willing to listen the parents with any concerts and coments. The parents at Valley always have an oulet to particpate in their children education:PTA, VEFF, Classroom, Art, Padres Latinos and all the famiy nights that everyone enjoy!!!! Valley is a great school!!!
Valley s Dual Language Program is exceptional! The yearly academic and linguistic growth for each of our kids can t be measure. The constant hand-on activities, innovative classroom practices and ongoing events makes my child happy to be part of this Valley family. The amazing hard working teachers at Valley are not only highly qualify but are passionate about teaching our kids beyond CST and other tests. I know my children are in excellent hands at Valley and are being prepared to excel as global citizens, enjoy learning, and challenge their thinking.. Go Valley!!
What do I love about Valley, the caring teachers and staff. They are dedicated and hard working. The principal is also a fine leader. I am very proud of Valley and all they do to help our children achieve and become all that they can be. The budget cuts no doubt have affected all the schools across the board so we have bigger classes and less teachers, which is a shame because we are cheating the kids out of a better education because of finances. Overall this is a wonderful school to be a part of. I disagree with the low rating of this school, it should be a 10
The school has the best faculty! Their dual immersion program is excellent!
Our kids have had a great experience at Valley thus far. The teachers are phenominal, there is a wonderful PTA, and the school is now under construction for further classroom improvements. We love Valley!
I have two (will have a third shortly) enrolled in the dual language program at Valley. It's the only program like it in the district which is why I drive all the way across the district to go to it. Having the dual language program presents unique challenges to the school, but it also offers kids an amazing opportunity to learn a second language from top-notch teachers at a time when they can really gain fluency. The school is really old, and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it's getting a face-lift, so some of the aesthetic issues are being addressed finally. Overall, from the teachers, to the new principal, to the kids' pride in their school, to the outstanding education, I think Valley is a really good school.
I have two children in the Dual Language Program at Valley and I am very happy with the education they are getting. The teachers are top of the line and extremely commited to their students. We have a new principal this year who seems to be very commited to the DL program as well as very interactive with the parents and students. My husband and I feel very lucky to that Valley is our neighborhood school.
This school has a serious lack of supervision topped off with an even more serious bullying issue that never seems to get addressed. The communication between faculty and parents concerning these issues is extremely poor.
