I LOVE JOE WALKER it is my favorite school that i've ever went to!!! The teachers are great and the after school activities are excellent. I am currantly in track and was also in track last year i think that all the resources that teachers provide for us the students are phonomal, and i don't see why any student should be having any type of proble with their grades. I would reccomend this school to anyone and everyone!

This school is really great. Im an eighth grader curently in geeometry. The GATE program isn't its best in 7th grade because of the lack of challenge and diversity in learning amongst other students. In 8th grade, the Gate program is good, Language arts is definitely challenged. The teachers are willing to help and their expectations are straightforward. The only problem i have is the strict dress code. Since 2008 the dress code stricness has grown to a point where even parents have complained. It is very hard to shop back to school if the dress code is irrational and fallacious. Other than the lack of sense on the Vice principals part, the faculty is great and the environment is overall safe. =]

I love this school and i am in gate, and having an awsome time. I know that people in gate or working accelerated and are getting pushed to their best ability. The teachers are graeat and help you with anything.... I recomend this school for everyone. Also, if u get lost easily, then i suggest trying to get in a class with your friends because the campus is huge.

Joe Walker does not provide education well at all. I am an advanced seventh grade student in GATE and advanced algebra, I feel i am doing the same work as average and lower level students in all subjects. The campus is very dirty and the discipline issue is the same. The only decent teacher in the campus is Mr. French.

The band instruction is top notch, the best you will find anywhere!! Most of the teachers are excellent also. The dress code is micro-managed with new rules being added every year. It's so strict that the kids can't wear anything from the mall. My other daughter gave up on trying to find clothes that will satisfy all the rules and usually just wears her gym shorts to all her classes now. It would be nice if the 'clothing police' staff members could redirect that energy into something more positive.

I think this is an awesome school, it's just that there's too much of the campus indoor. It would be nice if more of the campus was indoor instead of outdoor. But overall it's a nice school.

We just attended Back to School night this past week. We couldn't be more pleased with our decision to send our child to this school. The teachers are all professional, the office staff is curtious, and the campus is immaculate. Our daughter has only attended this school for 3 weeks, but she has made friends and is bonding with her teachers. The communication between home and school is consistant and expectations are high. This is a wonderful school!

i am a former student at this school. The discipline is pretty bad. It was hard to learn when the kids never listen to the teachers. Most of the teachers are pretty good though. The principle is great, he even gave me a tour of the school when i was new there for 8th grade in the 2005/2006 school year. The campus is nice, kinda dirty but not near as bad as my high school.

While I agree with Ms. Rutkowski-HInes about the Principal and I am a fan of hers, I will say that some of the Teachers are good. In my 4 years of experience (both children), the majority of the Teachers really don't seem to care if they 'get it right' or not. 1/2 of the students ruin it for others.
