I love this school because my two sons learned many things from teachers. Especially, I like my first son's 5th grade teacher (Ms. Garretson). She is enthusiastic about teaching and caring for his students regardless of their backgrounds. I am glad that my sons have been under the wings of good teachers.

In my expirence with Cucamonga Elementry has been excellent. I have two wonderful girls one stated in first & graduated last year to 6TH RCMS; and my youngest started in K & now in 3rd, which both have had excellent teachers. I have to mention they both were in Ms. McQuown's 1st grade class & Ms. Wood 2nd grade they are both excellent teachers that should be recongnied for their teaching methods and encourageing ways that make the children understand the importance of learning and responsiblity. I just wish their were funds avalible to further extra courses for music; science labs; & other educational classes that could broaden our children to the fullest of their potential or at least the same oppertunity that the elementry has up the street. Overall both my girls are advanced on the STAR reports, I believe with more state funding Cucamonga Elementry would be higher racking

My child attended this school. The teachers are very caring and do the best with what tools they are given. The Administration turn over rate seems high. Principals do not last more than a couple of years. The school did do some remodeling/updating which was badly needed. There is only one junior high for this district. Every time I have gone to the district with concerns I have been told that they are either restructuring or transistioning. My child doesn't have the time to wait while the school district attempts to get its act together. We recently moved so my children can attend a different school district and not have to worry if our request to attend another school is approved or not every year.

Great, caring teachers. My son went to the school from Kinder-5th grade. We developed a personal bond with all his teachers throughout the year. He did have to switch class once into a combo class. (2nd/3rd gr)and the school changed principals 3X. My son gets done with his work fast and gets bored easily. All his teachers handled it accordingly by providing add'l challenging worksheets and allowing him to help other students.I never felt anything other than they truly care for my child's education and I am extremely hard on teachers/admin. Now the location of the school affects its API, Title 1 status, available resources for programs other than ESL,ELL etc.The test scores of the school does not reflect the teachers, but all bureaucracy of the district. PTA was weak, same lady, same ideas. I always signed up to help. No response or contact.Same weak circle. Hopefully there is a new PTA.

The schools in this district is a big reason why I'm selling the house. My daughter's progress is just OK. The school has limited PE classes each week, and devotes alot of classtime preparing for the state tests, which is really a shame. If the schools were doing what they are supposed to be doing each day, the state tests shouldn't be the big deal it is.

I like the school but feel that the values of the officals involved are not what they should be.

My child has gone to Cucamonga Elem for 3 years now. The first two years were great. This past year was a nightmare and my daughter suffered academically becuase of it. There were a number of things that bothered me first the students had 3 teacher within a 6 month peiod which caused distractions, confusion and an unstable learning environment. My child spirits and confidence about school became very low finally I asked taht my child to be removed from the class and placed in another. I noticed a better change in my childs personality and mood about school had changed. My suggestion is to interview the teacher your child is assigned to I know I will very year after this experience.

Cucamonga Elementary has some great things about it. They have a sports program, older students can hold offices, and traditional Halloween activities are allowed (unlike other local schools). On the other hand, the school calendar changes frequently and in important ways (e.g., added two extra days off at Thanksgiving and four extra days off at Easter) without sufficient notice to parents. Academically, the school is not well ranked. My son's math teacher has been unable to assign homework to him 'yet' (it's now spring).
