Sometimes having parents so close to the administration and teachers results in more of a family dynamic than a respectful and slightly distant parent-teacher relationship, and parents get a little demanding of faculty and other "teaching parents", feelings are hurt, etc. While there are some loose ends that would be best tied in such a "family", overall, this is such a great way to educate your child. If only parents in every school could take the time away from other responsibilites and spend it in supporting the teacher of their child and his schoolmates, the potential experience would be off the wall.
This is the second review that I have contributed, I'm not sure what happened to the first? While Cornerstone may offer parent participation and similar support found in other PV schools in the district, it grossly misses the mark in the area of partnering with families when a child needs support in the area of social emotional or social skills.
This is a great parent participation school! The principal and teachers are outstanding! Children thrive academically as well as socially. In my opinion, it's more of a private school, at a public school cost!
Our grandchildren attended and it was a wonderful school. Gave them a wonderful start in their education
THis is our 3rd year at Cornerstone and it is better than ever. Despite funding cuts and threatened layoffs, this school, and most importantly, the children are thriving. Not only are the test scores high, the student morale and attitudes are excellent. Teachers here truly care and utilize the parents fully. so they can concentrate
Education and environment of private school at public cost. Great school.
Great parent participation school.
This school is awesome. Parents are involved each step of the way.
This school is amazing-- i was part of the first graduating class and am now going to be a graduating senior from Peninsula High and i HIGHLY recommend this incredible school. It focuses on the children completely and is a safe and friendly environment.
Blue Ribbon School, 21st Century school of distinction, innovator of numerous child enrichment and suppport programs, ie., Art Trek, Archeological Dig, Homework Club, After school enrichment series, Year long study of one culture/country each year, kid's corner, science lab, and more. Mandatory parent participation provides a school where all parents have an interest and investment of their time into their child's education. We believe informed parent participation is the Cornerstone of a student's educational foundation. We commit to the education of the whole child: physical, emotional, intellectual, and social. We believe in helping each child to be challenged with the excitement of discovery. An absolutely incredible place to watch and experience your child growing and learning. Also, will have a new greenhouse operating with teacher based curriculm and hands on help form the children by spring of 2005.
