We love this school and are sad to be leaving. Our son has learned so much in the short time we've been here. His teacher makes learning fun, exciting and engaging. We are thankful for the positive first experience she has given him.

This is our first year at VG and we love it! We moved from another school district because we had heard such positive feedback about Vista Grande and it was all true! Dr. Vincent is a very involved, warm, and professional principal. My daughter's teacher is excellent. There are plenty of extracurricular activities. There is a lot of parental involvement. It's a fairly small school (approx. 320 students) and in a very safe neighborhood. I'm extremely impressed with the well-behaved students. It's almost the end of the school year and I have yet to see an arguement between any of the students. It seems the parents and staff are looking out for the childrens' safety, encouraging their academic accomplishments, and acting as positive role models.

Strong academic programs, many extracurricular activities, including a variety of after-school enrichment programs, and active parental involvement make Vista Grande an outstanding school. Academic excellence and good behavior are emphasized. Although the students are mostly high-achieving, the school environment is not competitive. ALL the students are recognized for their accomplishments, big and small. I think the teachers and principal are doing an excellent job of teaching the students. My children look forward to going to school everyday!

My children attend Vista Grande and we only have positive things to say about this school. The school provides quality education for the students and academic excellence is emphasized (as it should be). Besides the rigorous academic programs, there are music programs, art education, sports/physical activities, and educational field trips. There is a great after-school enrichment program that offers a variety of activities from dance, art, and science to golf, rock-climbing, and cheerleading. There is also an active parental involvement. I know that my children are getting the best education from an outstanding school. Two thumbs up to Dr. Vincent, the principal, and the VG teachers!

Vista Grande is an excellent school. You need only to look at the test scores and compare these to see that they are doing something right. These are high performing students with committed parents who volunteer many hours to the school and support the programs. I have found the teachers dedicated, students who consistently perform in the top percentile for California schools and nationwide, and parents who are caring and interested. Who could ask for more? This district offers many programs that cannot be found elsewhere in the public school system (before and after school care, enrichment programs, regular PE, music, and so much more).

Purely as a dedicated parent wishing to help others in our position, I have to comment on how poor this teaching is at Vista Grande. Our teacher had very little interest in encouraging students or did not know how to. I spent many hours at the school and observed long conversations in Chinese (approx a third of the class was of Chinese origin) which totally alienated the other children. Ultimately, as responsible parents, we ended up moving state to ensure our child had quality education. In the year and half since leaving this sub standard school, she has become a straight 'A' student and is in the gifted program (and we did not go private) The usd has abandoned this school for some reason so I would encourage parents to keep on top of ensuring the school delivers even basic education before it is too late!

This is the best public school system in SoCal. We are thrilled with the teachers.

This school is great. Well-balanced, positive and inclusive. There are opportunities for children and parents to be involved in a variety of ways. and it is because of a wonderful 'community' environment that our kids benefit so highly. The teachers and staff are receptive and responsive to input, and encourage hands on involvement. I actually had my children registered at another school in the district, moved and considered keeping them at that school. I couldn't be happier about the decision. My kids are happy, I'm happy and we have made friendships with lasting ties. Tomorrow is meet the teacher day and I have no concerns about which classes my children end up in...they're all great!

Great school. Vista Grande is excellent elementary school. Positive encouraging attitude of Principal Dr Vincent and her staff helpd build solid foundation for kids. Lot of fun activities inside the clas and outside the class as well, brings out an all-rounder in our kids. Special outdoor science camps to plays and stage performances builds childs self image and confidence. Teachers are well educated in helping students boost theri performance and push the laggards to strive for the best. Parents are involved in the class activities and teachers like that a lot.
