My daughter started this school in 5th grade...we only wish we had put her in Manzanita Elementary sooner. She came from a high tuition Christian school and we found her to be behind in math. So sad that we paid for so long for a sub-standard education, that is supposed to be better than a public education. When we put her here we weren't sure how easily she would make friends, but she really had an easy time of it! She claims that the girls are all really nice and has lots of friends. The teachers are AMAZING!!! She has 4 different teachers because 5th grade rotates classes and they are all terrific, we couldn't ask for a better year and wish that this school went thru 8th!!! Overall, if you are thinking of this school, don't hesitate, you really won't be sorry:)

I must say I agree with the comment on the YMCA program. Manzanita is a wonderful school but the after school program needs to change. My son was enrolled in the YMCA after school program and I now pick him up after school. If he had to be in an after school program I would have changed schools that tells you how bad the YMCA program is run.

Manzanita Elementary school is great. If you can avoid it, try not to enrol your children in the YMCA after school program. They are run by a lot of inexperienced teenagers who do not have good ethics or control. We are fortunate to have been able to pull our child from the after school program. I wish Manzanita would apply for some grants to start their own after scholl program with teachers that really care.

Can't say enough good things about this school! My daughter is in 5th grade and loves the school and entire staff. She's enjoying the new Honor Choir and Spirit Club. We are sad that the school does not go to 6th grade. We highly recommend this school!

Very good school. My daughter is in 5th grade and she likes it. I love there afterschool turtoring. She has improved her reading so much in just the last few months. I only wish it went to 6th grade. My friend just moved to Nashville and her son had gone to Manzanita since Kindergarten and he was way ahead of all the kids in his class. He was a way ahead of the game. So she was very pleased too with Manzanita. Great School!

This has been a nice school for my children to go to. The teachers and school employees have been helpful and available. There is a variable socioeconomic factor here, which sometimes can come into play with childrens interpersonal relationships. The education aside from that has been acceptable.

From what I understand, my niece really enjoys this school. They seem to work well with the parents and have been in this community for a long time. I went to kindergarten there. Overall a good school.

My children have gone here since preschool. They are now in 1st and 2nd grade. I have been quite pleased with the teachers for the exception of one kindergarten teacher. The preschool program is wonderful and I would recommend it to everyone. One of my children is an accelerated learner, and unfortunately I haven't seen any accerated programs at this school. On the other hand, my other child's teacher has been working with him on an exceptional level. This child can be very stubborn at times, and I have been impressed with how she works with him. Overall I feel this school is a good school.

This school has staff that excels in a large variety of areas from sports/physical fitness enthusiasts to visual and performing art specialists. The entire field/playground areas have been overhauled by a group of individuals involving parents, community and staff with incredible results! When it comes to a 'village raising a child' concept - it's at Manzanita!! I'll never understand why anyone in this community would opt for a charter or private school when we have public schools like this one.
